Pros:

After using Proactiv for more than 8 years I just always thought my skin would be dry in certain areas. After just using it for one week I have noticed a difference in my skin's texture.

Cons:

none!

If you are wondering if you should try this product, I would say why not?? I was suffering from frequent breakouts while using Proactiv, but was afraid it would get worse if I switched. However, after switching I am sooo happy that I took the chance. Being in my 30's and a mother of two I hated the fact that my acne would not clear up!! This stuff works great! Nobody' s self confidence should suffer becasue of their skin - take a chance!

Pros:

My skin is healing; less breakouts; new breakouts heal faster. My skin is no longer red and flaky. My skin is smoother. Within a few days of using the product, I lost the red delineation between my face and chin from when I had used benzoyl peroxide.

Cons:

I did break out more during initial weeks - the purging was awful - but I knew my skin had trapped a lot of bacteria that needed to surface. Stick with it and you will see results, you just need to get over that few week hump of extra zits!

I'm nearly 37 years old and went off the pill 2 months ago -I had not had a significant breakouts until I went off. I'm getting married this October and needed something to clear my skin which was breaking out with deep cysts on my chin along with red, painful whiteheads on my forehead, temples and chin. How stressful! An over the counter Benzoyl peroxide product seemed to be aggravating my skin which was continually red, itchy, and flaky -I knew I needed to try something new. I have been using the MURAD brand acne kit for nearly 4 weeks and have seen dramatic results. (Note - I use the 3 main products and only have used the moisturizer like twice b/c I really don't need that.). Adult acne is not fun; I am very pleased with Murad's acne treatment products and will continue to use it. .

Pros:

Worked for about a week.

Cons:

Made my skin worse than before and very expensive.

When I first used this product, it made me skin slightly clearer in about the first week. After this, my skin went really bad, it said on the instructions that your skin would purge for about one to two weeks, mine skin went really bad and did not change. After two months I gave up on this product. It is a waste of money, and does not do what it says it does. Seriously don't buy it!!!

Pros:

It works and feels wonderful the very first time you use it.
Smells nice. While using everyday for a short time it is very good.

Cons:

If you stop using this for a day or two acne comes back almost immediately.
Stops working as good after a few weeks.
Very expensive

Although it works great in the beginning this product doesn't keep skin clear, you'll be throwing away $50-$60 over and over again hoping it'll work. If you really want to see if it will work for you, good luck.

Pros:

If used as directed it will work...for most people.

Cons:

The sticky gel, yeah it's sticky but it works.
The purging. It will stop. I'm living proof.

I'm 43, African American & have adult acne. My acne was so bad it felt like I could peel a layer off...literally I've used & am still using the Murad Acne Kit. It works just give it some time. Based on how severe your acne is it may work faster for others. I've used it for 4 weeks. It says to allow atleast 4 weeks. I've been using it now for 6 weeks. I was on prescription meds 1st. I stopped using those, 1 for morning & 1 for evening & started using the Murad. The purging was awful, REALLY awful!! I was getting dry patches & my face was red as a piece of cinnamon candy! In the middle of the 3rd week I used the prescription meds on the dry patches in addition to the Murad & now no more dry patches & my skin is acne free! I still have an occassional pimple every now & then but I just apply the Acne Spot Treatment twice a day until it goes away. There's no cure for acne but thus far this is the best product I've ever tried! My skin is clear and well hydrated.

Pros:

None.

Cons:

Expensive, doesn't work at all.

In 4 months of use, this product destroyed my skin. Instead of clearer skin, breakouts spread to my cheeks and forehead, my zits were larger, redder, and more painful, and I was spending $70 a month for this torture. It may work for some people, but are you willing to risk worse acne for the small chance it will work for you?

Pros:

It did clear up my majority of my skin.

Cons:

I still had pimple break outs every n then. And it is expensive, I bought the individual face wash and spot treatment in Sephora store. But then bought the set online because that was a better deal.

I stopped using birth control and thats when my face starting breaking out. I used the regular face washes from the store and didn't really do anything. Then tried proactive and saw no improvement. Then tried murad and it seems to work better. But it's only been a month so I'm hoping it'll be better next month.
