Pros:

It definitely dried out my pimples.

Cons:

Like everyone else, in less than a week I started getting red tiny bumps around the mouth, chin and jawline area (almost like eczema).

The acne clearing up was definitely not worth itching and burning. I called Murad to ask about this. The only suggestion they had was to use the exfoliating gel every other day. Tried that and after a few days, I started to get scaly! As soon as I started to look like a mutant, I quit right away. All this in only 7 days. No thanks! Too bad I bought it on ebay (no money back guarantee for me).

Pros:

Didnt dry my skin out, great moisturizer, smell ok

Cons:

Long process of washing, toning, treatment gel, spot treatment, and moisturizing, but worth it

I have been using Murad and I dont know why it hasnt worked for most people because it has been working for me. I only apply the treatment gel to the problems areas, if you smear it all over your face then i assume it will do some damage like dryness/redness, etc., but i only apply to problem areas and it has kept it in control, even made the scars on the bottom of the side of my face appear lighter. I have used proactiv and that stuff is like crack cocaine u have to keep using it or else your face will be a disaster, even when i missed a washing (due to nights where i am jus wayyy too tired to wash my face) my face would break out bad from Proactiv. But anyways bottom line is...if you use Murad correctly and according to your own facial needs then it should work for you.

Pros:

The cleanser was nice and did make my face feel soft. It lathered really well with a small amount. It seemed to clear up the small white bumps I developed after years of using Proactive. The lotion was ok.

Cons:

The step 2 gel was slimmy and over dried my skin. The sulfur spot treatment was messy. Overall the Cystic acne was still there and even seemed worse.

Not worth the money and dashed hopes.

Bad reaction to blemish control product!
I had a light acne control facial in The Hague Holland in a small salon nearby and was given the starter pack - used it for 2 nights and then my face looked awful - red rash and white spots - I regret using the product as now I really look bad and have to face my colleague at work!! Have stopped using the product but when will my face go back to normal or do I have to go see a dermatologist now? very worried ..... that I've damaged my skin ....

Pros:

- there are none...

Cons:

- two words: irritation everywhere

Ughh I hate it. I thought this would be amazing but it really was the opposite! Made my face break out LIKE CRAZY and was waaaay to harsh for my skin. It's been like 3 weeks since I stopped using this whole regimen and my face still looks horrendous. If you have sensitive skin I beg you don't use these products!

Pros:

None

Cons:

Did nothing for acne. Made it worse.

I was fooled into buying this product desperate for some relief watching late night tv. Hung in there for around 3 months waiting for results. Never did in fact it got much worse so I discontinued use. Learned later that Murad is a complete scam. Even was flagged as one of the top scams on a consumer protection website. I spent way too much money for this product. I think it's awful that a company would prey on people with a real problem. Just thought I'd share my experience.

I started this product because I was recommended it by the lady at Ulta. Before starting this product I had maybe one to two pimples a week. I just got it to make my face 100% clear. Worst product made me break out so bad. Do not get this at all.

Pros:

Feels refreshing
Smells nice

Cons:

Skin is much worse
Cystic breakouts all over chin

I purchased this product on the recommendation of a friend because I was experiencing a flare up of my acne. At the time I was battling one or two stubborn cysts. I am now desperately trying to treat several more that won't go away and just as I think one is healing, another appears. Some are returning in the same exact location. I believed that I was building a resistance to oral antibiotics but now think that this product is contributing to the problem. I do not recommend it.

Pros:

My skin felt clean immediately after the first use. The price is reasonable and It gives your skin a lovely glow. It worked for me so far I'm two weeks into the treatment and my acne is gone!

Cons:

The first week was really uncomfortable and the purging was awful. It was super itchy at first and very dry.

It works !! I'm two weeks and one day into the treatment and I'm very impressed. I will admit I was nervous during the purging stage but I stuck it out and now I have acne free skin, I still have light blemishes from previous acne scaring but I notice they are fading and I trust this product will eliminate that proble In Due time

Pros:

Seems to be working. Reduces scarring, minimizes (but does not remove entire, yet) breakouts. Blackheads are diminished. Cost effective despite initial costs.

Cons:

Expensive initial costs. Improvement, but not "clear skin" in 4 weeks. Moisturizer was too rich for skin so had to return to my previous moisturizer. Peeling/dry skin can occur. If bought online, you have to cancel automatic shipments of product that you are not ready for. Not totally free of parabens as the website states...

My skin looks better, no doubt about that. I tried this as a last resort. It started to work by the 3rd day. I started very slowly with the treatment gel so I did not get too many adverse reactions to the salicylic/retinal in the gel (which I think is what many of the negative reviews are attributed to, alongside the moisturizer). I was using an application at night and in the morning, but now I only do an application at night and my skin is definitely healing much better. Cleanser and mask are good; sulfur spot treatment works for me; moisturizer congested my pores and gave me non-inflamed pimples so I switched moisturizers and my skin really started to look better. The amount of product you get should last you a long time; if it does not, you are might be using too much. I have been using this since April 13, and it is now May 22 and I have enough of all the products for atleast another month, if not longer. I plan on buying the cleanser, gel treatment, maybe the sulfur treatment, and maybe the mask in full size. If you do not want to try out the kit, I definitely recommend trying the gel treatment; I have attributed it to be the most helpful product in this kit and you could easily add it to your skin care regime without buying the rest of the Murad line. I took off a star because of the lotion issue and because I was nearly charged for another shipment of Murad due to silly automatic shipment. Overall though, I plan to keep using parts of this line and buy them locally at Sephora to avoid shipment charges (I wanted mine ASAP so the shipment charge was like... $16.00).
