Pros:

It was affordable, and had a "money back guarantee"

Cons:

Ruined my skin - over a year later and I'm still trying to repair the damage. "Purging" never stopped.

After glowing reviews and a "money back guarantee" - I thought, why not? If it doesn't work, I could always get my money back. Nothing has worked to clear up my mild to moderate adult acne (26 YOF, developed acne about 6 years ago) - I thought this might be the answer to my prayers. I couldn't have been more wrong. My skin looked fantastic for the first week - I used exactly as directed, except I cut back on the gel because it was so harsh. Within a couple weeks I broke out in deep, painful cysts. I developed acne on my cheeks (which had never happened) and a cystic lesion smack between my eyes - to this day, it's still there haunting me, refusing to budge. It completely changed the balance of my skin - it's never been the same since. OH - and the money back guarantee? TOTAL LIE! Sent in my bottles and never received refund!

Pros:

evens out skin tone

Cons:

huge puss-filled zits, which cancels out the even skin tone!

i'm approaching 30, and started having more pimples around PMS-ing, so i decided to try something new (besides clearasil face soap). worse mistake of my life. i have huge red zits on my cheeks, forehead and hairline! i've NEVER had zits on my hairline! and they ALL have puss!!!!!! before using this product, my pimples would go away in a week, now i feel it's getting worse! i had faith in this product, so i kept using and using it. no luck. my skin is worse off than ever. and they all scar REALLY bad. i really wish my friend never recommended this to me. if i could rewind time, i would never have tried this crap.

Pros:

Comes in a bucket

Cons:

doesn't work

Made me break out worse during my months usage of it. The only upside was that the redness in my face was less than when I was using duac. However, when I was using duac I wasn't moisturizing or using a gentle cleanser, so there were other variables at work.

Pros:

none

Cons:

IT DOESNT WORK AT ALL !!! stay away from this

after using it for 1 week, my face was RED AS A TOMATO , boy, that was horrible, my face was peeling, burning and itching like crazy, i looked terrible, then i went to the dermatologist and he told me murad had damaged my skin , the acid it has damaged my skin. Plus, the exfoliating cream burns like CRAZY ITS horrible. the refining mask is way cool tho Now im using differin, its much better than murad, but it might not work for you either, so just be aware of what you use and youll be alright. MURAD SUCKS!! ugh... why did i even bother

Pros:

Face wash was ok. Soapy but leaves skin dry.

Cons:

Stings. Smells bad and burns your nostrils. Spot treatment is hard to use and it's messy. Made me breakout more. This is probably the worse breakout I ever had. Beware of this product.

I do not recommend this product.

Pros:

glycolic acid is awesome.

Cons:

aloe vera makes me break out bad!!

UPDATE - UGH. DON'T DO IT!! it only got clearer when i used the moisturizing acne lotion instead of the exfoliating acne gel...and that was *clearer* mind you, not clear! when i alternated back to the gel i broke out again worse than ever...then i found out its FULL OF ALOE VERA. some people say aloe is fine for their acne, but for most people its terribly aggravating, and the fact that dr. murad made it the 3rd ingredient in his main treatment is rediculous. so, mystery solved, its not just purging, its the aloe vera that's giving everyone these horrible bumps and pustules everywhere. the glycolic acid combined with the salycilic acid really does give you a lovely even tone, but if you're covered in zits what's the point?? there are other products that use glycolic acid. because of murad my skin has been the worst its ever been for 2 months, i have to go get microdermabrasion, i'm on antibiotics, and i'm praying proactive will fix it because PROACTIVE REALLY WORKS. no gimmicks.
