Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Smells Horrible
Doesn't Work
Gives you painful acne
Leaves Scars
Burns your sk

I've struggled with acne most of my life, after being on accutane when I was around 16 it cleared my skin for the most part but I still have the odd breakout and always seem to have at least 5 pimples on my face at any given time...after trying endless over the counter and prescription medications to try and clear my skin I thought I would give murad a try to see if I would experience any positive results from it. After using it exatcly how the directions say, 4 weeks later I have more acne then what I started with. The new pimples that I have are in spots I have never gotten them before (lip lines, forehead, under the nose). It also turned the existing pimples I had into these huge, red and extremely painful lumps. One of them has cleared up a bit and I can tell it is going to leave one heck of a scar...I do not understand the whole "purging" process but I do not think that it should last over a month - if I were to experinece any positive results from this product I would have seen them by now. Overall, I am very disappointed - I am hoping that my skin will recover from what this product has done to it.

Pros:

Free Shipping

Cons:

Made my near clear skin horrible.
Strong medicinal smell

If you have gotten clear with BP and want to try a BP free solution, please don't use this! After a rough spring with my skin I used Acne Free Severe kit for 3 months and was clear about 6 weeks into it (I have used BP on and off for 15 years with usual success). I was pretty clear but it was enhancing the fine lines on my 32 y.o. skin, so I thought I would give Murad complex a try for a long term maintenance solution, you know...no more stained clothes, Dermatologist created, high-end premium skincare products etc.... WAAAAAAAH!!!! What a mistake. Caused over 70 hard whiteheads (that have since erupted into full blown papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts) along my jaw line, just using it for 3.5 weeks. When I talked to their customer service to return it they questioned why I wasn't sticking with it for the full 4 weeks because she guaranteed if I kept using it I would be clear if I did...yeah ok in 4 days your product is going to clear 70 hard whiteheads and 10-15 full eruptions!!! I currently have over 15 active eruptions on each side of my jaw now, so alas.... Back to BP but the damage was done it's been over 5 weeks and my skin is still fighting to bounce back from the worst breakout I have had in years. Try to go BP free if you want but don't do it with Murad; PLEASE!

Pros:

Within 2days of using this product I noticed improvement. Thankfully the boxed set was the right combination for my skin because I didn't have any issues. I plan to continue using this product line.

Cons:

Very expensive.

I would recommend this product

Pros:

....Smells okay?

Cons:

Everything.
-left a scar
-turned a really bad pimple into a gaping hole/scab
-it turned my moderate acne into severe
-irritated me
-dried me out
-itched
-burned

I used this a few years back, and this has probably been the worst thing I've used. It turned one of my pimples into a gaping hole, it was expensive, it didn't work, and not to mention it hurt my face a lot. I really thought murad was going to work, but it really didn't at all. Terrible. Please go spend your money on something else, not this. Just for the record, I have sensitive, combination, acne prone skin, and my acne is light-moderate.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Made face feel even more oily. Caused my skin to brake out worst, with tiny little blisters!

I have very oily and dry skin, is a combination and I was told this would clear my skin in two weeks, but the first two weeks it would brake out even more "supposiably" getting all ur pores cleaned out.... Well it never cleared my skin it caused me to have little bitty blisters pop up everywhere underneath my nose and my chin... It's awful!!!!! Taking it back and getting a full refund!!!

Pros:

Face felt fresh after using it.

Cons:

"purging"

I used it for about a month and a half, once a day as it really dried my face. I gave it a chance to work but the "purging" process didn't seem to stop until I just decided to stop using the entire line for acne prone skin. I got more pimples from using it (like it multipled 5x) with some scars. It's horrrible. I haven't reviewed things I bought before but this one I felt I had to. Definitely not worth the effort and money.

Pros:

Skin is soft

Cons:

Never had totally clear skin

I have been using for over a year. Worked good at first. Now the acne and the dark spots have returned even though I am still using the products and taking the murad supplements. I am cancelling auto shipments.

Pros:

Clears skin. Cooling. Preventative. Chemical exfoliation. Hydrating.

Cons:

None.

This is a perfect blend of chemical exfoliation from the salicylic acid (BHA) and citrus oils. Anti-inflammatory properties from the lavender oil, black cohosh and castor oil. The castor oil and apricot kernel oil help balance oil production, lightly hydrate. Plant oils are similar to skin oils which allow for the ingredients to penetrate past the acid mantle (natural oil barrier on the skin) and keep the skin hydrated since salicylic acid is meant to remove excess oil and help loosen blackheads. The oils it contains are not synthetic so it does not cause sensitivity or clog the pores. The menthol causes a cooling effect that gives skin a tingly clean feeling without overly stripping the skin. A moisturizer and SPF is a must due to the chemical exfoliation and to not let it all go to waste. I have never had more amazing skin. I use this in the A.M. because my makeup goes on smooth and since my oil is regulated my makeup wears longer even without primer. I have combination skin so I think using it in the morning is enough. I use something more neutral in the evening with makeup removing properties. Not for dry skin as the salicylic may further dry out your skin. Try something gentler like lactic, malic or glycolic acid. IT IS AMAZING. I am just a skincare fanatic and I give this 5 stars. ****THIS WAS TO RESPOND TO THE LAST PERSON WHO HAS NO CLUE ABOUT INGREDIENTS. If it doesn't work, its because your treating the issue while ignoring your skin type. You may need something more aggressive or gentler with time released ingredients. Be nice to your biggest organ. Hope you find something that works. :)

Pros:

The only good part of this regimen is the Exfoliating Acne Treatment Gel...WHICH by I would just buy separately if you want to use something from Murad. The treatment gel has good ingredients, (glycolic acid, witch hazel, retinol) and can be beneficial just by itself. Don't buy the whole kit.

Cons:

Sticky residue
No improvement in skin clarity

So many things wrong & I blame the clenser. This cleanser has so much OIL in it, I can't understand how people with sever acne have had success: hydrogenated castor oil (I have seen this very ingredient in hair products!) Tangarine leaf oil, Citronella oil, lemon peel oil, Lime Oil, Lavandula Hybrida Oil, Mandarin Orange Peel Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil. So this is straight from the ingredient list...8 different oils in the cleanser in this regimen. Do your research and read the ingredient lists before you give in to those TV commercials where a smiling perfect-skinned teenager tells you they had a miracle with this kit!!!
