Shea butter is a no no

Pros:

natural
mosturized

Cons:

breaks you out for weeks
smells funny
cyst and clogged pores in new areas

I usually use Palmers Cocoa Butter but i ran out and decided to use my sisters shea butter. She uses it for her hair though. Ive been an acne sufferer and been clear for two years now thanks to research and habits. So of course i looked up reviews on shea butter. Some were good reviews some bad. So everyone is different so i gave it a try. Omg break outtt mania! I was getting cyst and so many white heads and i started picking again :( still recovering after 2 months. Pleaseeeee dont use shea butter on your face!

I'm having this same issue! I started using Maiga black soap/facial cleanser/100% organic raw Shea butter and my skin has broken out the worst it's been in over 20 years!! It's been two weeks, I thought maybe it's pushing the impurities from my skin but it's getting worse and spreading across my forehead and chin. Any idea what to do to help reverse this? Besides quitting this routine

One thing I've learned is breaking out isn't always a bad thing when it comes to trying new skin products. I've read so much about it and finally found a reasonable explanation; these breakouts could be caused by your skin having a detox from the product! There are many layers to your skin. The breakouts form at the first layer and take a while until they become noticeable. But this product could possibly be speeding up this cycle. Only time will tell. I've recently been using an Alba organics face cream. At first I broke out so much. But a while after, my skin was so soft and clear. It may be different for other people, but why not try?

This is an odd case, shea butter is rated as a 0 on the comedogenic scale, however all butters and oils can be pore clogging if used in a high enough amount. I suspect maybe you used a little too much?

Pros:

All natural & organic, I continue to use it as lip gloss & moisturizer but NOT on my face!

Cons:

I don't care what other people say but this 100% clogged my pores and contributed to severe cystic acne. There's a review below mine that had the same problem and I to even got a cyst above my eye and below eyebrow. I didn't even know it was possible to get a pimple there. I've had a scar for about 2 months now and I didn't even pop this stupid thing!

I read a review elsewhere a couple weeks ago while I was still using shea and it made complete sense. When you apply it in essence you're melting it, then it hardens on your skin... same thing as heating up butter then letting it cool down & harden. NOT GOOD! I would actually pop the cystic acne I would get (which is terrible and I have terrible scarring from it that I'm dealing with now) however if I didn't pop it there would still be a scar so whatever. Anyway, I stopped using it about 3-4 weeks ago and my skin has done a complete turn around. I'm not saying everyone will have to deal with what I did but just be careful. I do use it on my feet, hands & lips and love it but no where near my face.

Help, please!! Any suggestions on what you did for your skin to turn around?? I had awesome skin prior to using Maiga products, and I've had terrible breakouts along my forehead and chin regions. Should I just return to my previous routine? Did you find something specific work for you that you'd recommend?

Pros:

Great moisturizer for the body, especially the feet
Great as an eye cream
Firms up and hydrates the skin
Glowy healthy looking skin
You could eat it if you really wanted too
No parabens

Cons:

Clogged pores immediately after use

I used 100% unrefined organic virgin shea butter. The kind that smells of forest. I love how it smells and feels and that it's a 100% natural, but I won't be letting it near my face again. I started to get black heads and under the skin bumps when my problem was only whiteheads before. I'm still dealing with the after math now.

I have the same after using Maiga products. They honestly look like bug bites. Lol, my third comment left about this- any help??

Pros:

natural, pretty cheap, very moisturizing

Cons:

break out city

This is a wreck waiting to happen for my oily, extremely break-out prone skin. Unless you're on tane, have dry skin, or are just using this for your body or hair, I'd steer clear of this.

Pros:

Seems all natural in its description

Cons:

If its making my 'normal`(since I have no acne) skin burn, wonder what it would do to those with acne! Pls be SURE before buying this product.

I am looking to make a switch to organic products and purchased Maiga Facial Cleanser and Maiga Handmade Shea Butter (with aloe vera) upon recommendation of the salesman. The cleanser has been giving my face a burning sensation and the butter has a bubblegum smell that u only realise when you start using it. I am not pleased at all :(

In the same boat- got it as a gift and I like switching up my routine with new product to try, especially if it touts being organic. Maiga has made me break out the worst I've ever had in the past two weeks than in over 20 years. Have you any advice on how to fix it? Because I'm still struggling
