This stuff is very expensive but I started two weeks ago. The jury is still out, but seems very effective for "normal" acne, less so on cystic acne. Though it does seem to tame cystic acne/flatten it ...

This is the only treatment I've found that consistently works. Cystic acne is deep, stubborn and seems to be encased in a hard shell which makes it impervious to topical treatments.

Find a new dermatologist who's more current on treatments. I've had good luck with cortisone injections for cystic acne.

My best luck has been cortisone shots.

I doubt the efficacy of topicals since cystic acne is hard, deep and seems impervious. It doesn't come to head and isn't "popable." My best luck has been with cortisone shots.
