^^To the other person that commented... First off, rude much?? There's no need for that, especially considering you aren't even right. Not every facial cleansing product is going to cause a purge. That's completely false. ONLY products with active ingredients that increase cell turnover will do that (i.e. AHAs, BHAs, topical acne creams). Witch hazel does not contain any of these and should not make you purge. Witch Hazel can simply be irritating to some people's skin, especially if it contains alcohol or if you don't dilute it. If you are breaking out from something that does not contain active ingredients, it means it's not working for your skin and you should stop.

How long did you use it for? The same thing happened to my forehead (where I don't normally breakout) for the first two weeks and then after that my forehead was the clearest and smoothest it's ever been. Did you give it at least 3 weeks? ACV is a natural AHA and thus could cause your skin to purge a bit.

I think this might be too moisturizing for oily skin. I used this when my skin was really dry & irritated from new medication. In regards to Cetearyl alcohol, I have no problem with it. There are "good" and "bad" alcohols - Cetearyl alcohol is one of the good ones. It is completely different that what you imagine when you think of "alcohol" as being a harsh, stripping ingredient. That is why you see it listed in so many skincare products listed for sensitive skin or labelled as "alcohol-free".

I have been looking for a gentle, non-irritating cleanser that wouldn't make my skin red or dry it out. I was cycling between CeraVe and Cetaphil for awhile, but this cleanser is by far my favorite. I love the creamy texture and the way it feels on my skin, plus the fact that it is a more natural option is a plus! My skin looks moisturized after using it & isn't red at all. If you have normal/dry skin that gets red or irritated easily I would definitely recommend giving this a try!
