i have taken accutane for 1 month and 10 days at 20mg/kg at 17. my dermatologist told me little to nothing about side effects, after 2 weeks, my memory worsened badly, extremely badly, aswell as my mathemathical abilities, i was 10 times slower calculating in chess and math. before accutane i was able to play 2 blindfolded games at the same time chilling, while in accutane i REALLY struggled to play 1 game, i had to really focus and ended up losing, while i generally won against this opponent while playing blindfolded. So, randomly i found an study which showed that accutane decreases brain metabolism a 21%, and lowered cognitives abilities. i was shoocked by this information and i discontinued accutane inmediately.

3 months have gone by and i feel a bit less dumb but clearly dumber than before, my chess rating has decreased and i can only play 1 blind game at a time with a lot of effort, A LOT, i also feel much more tired than before, i used to only sleep 4 hours a day because my body didnt let me sleep more than that, and i was full of energy throught the day, now i sleep 8 hours and i could sleep 12 if i wanted and still i feel really tired during the day (now i can easily nap, while before accutane it would be impossible for me to take a nap during the day, i just couldnt fall asleep)

so, i continued reading a ton of papers and i found a lot of evidence that showed that accutane somehow affected the brain DURING THE TREATMENT, but i couldnt find anything long term related, still, i feel dumber and more tired, will these side effects fade away?

please answer if you know

english is my second language and im in a rush, i know that there are like a thousand grammar mistakes, sorry.

This is awful to read. Accutane is so strong. It can work wonders for acne, but yeah, it does some crazy stuff.

Most sides are short-term, so hopefully it'll go away. Or moreso, your intelligence and brain speed will come back.

Also, take some omega-3s if your doc is cool with it cuz those can help with brain stuff.
