Does Novick perform subcision in Israel?

Recommended Posts

I have seen a lot of his posts on real self and he knows what he is talking about.

I am interested in subcision, filler and treatments for de pigmentation such as bimatoprost.

I live in the UK and there are very very few doctors who perform subcision.

Going to Israel seems pretty drastic but the flights and hotel would be cheap I imagine.

Thanks

Actually, a lot of people on here do not view him in a favorable light.  I've read many of his RealSelf.com posts and he sounds like he knows what he's talking about and goes on these super long, wordy posts.  But his actual skill level is not good.  His technique, especially with subcision and filler is not looked highly upon.

I got tricked by admins on this forum 2 years ago and flew to Israel to see him - 1000 euros lighter and traumatized with no result. Don’t do it.

It really depends on the severity of the scar. First, is it tethered? Then, yes, you need subcision. Second, is it deep (atrophic)? Then you'll need subcision as well. For those who have mild to medium scars, subcision will not give much improvement.

Instead of Novick, consider seeing Henningsen in Denmark. Someone recently stated that Henningsen charged 5500DKK ($700 US) for subcision and filler, which is very reasonable.

How did that happen

@tomwaits How did what happen? He was strongly promoted by admins (who never post anymore) on this forum 2 years back as well as another specialist - Prof. Chu so I went to see both and got no results. You can read more in my old posts if interested. But I’m still interested in seeing dr. Emil in Denmark - wish I would have seen him instead of Novick - he felt like a scam with his crazy American prices and unrealistic promises.

Not that this is an important distinction, but he is a moderator, not an admin. Anyway, I vaguely remember you from 2 years ago. At the time, I think I said you needed Sculptra. Did you get it?

Oh, dear God, run from this doctor. He botched my face with filler. It's lumpy dumpy and for the last two years my esteem has reached an all time low. The best thing about Covid19? The MASK wearing!

Going to see if Ringpfeil can undo the botch. Please, please, folks, if you have rolling scaring, fillers will only make matters worse. The scars will retether and force any remaining filler to areas of least resistance.  And as some doctors have noted, filler doesn't just absorb and disappear. It can and does last for years!

I have rolling scars and Subcision with Filler made a big difference for me, find good doctor, and as for filler can last years, well it depends what type of filler , my filler was Belotero basic, it lasted about 6 months.

Well, everyone is different. That's just my experience and my face is awful.

Dr. Gavin Chan at the Victoria Institute in Australia made a youtube video about fillers and how an MRI shows filler doesn't dissolve as quickly as people think.

First, all HA fillers are reversible, so if you don't like what you got you can get it dissolved. Second, for those who are happy with their fillers, it's a good thing that "filler doesn't dissolve as quickly as people think." It's not the filler but the injector that's the problem. Go find a qualified injector.

The substance used to dissolve HA fillers can also dissolve fat tissue.

I started with fillers in 2005 and it's made quite the mess. I've used two "qualified injectors."  Start playing around with fillers and eventually one's face will look like a padded quilt. Fillers are fine if one has no scarring -- great for anti aging solutions. That's my opinion but if proof is in the pudding, my face speaks volumes, lumpy volumes of good intentions gone bad.

Also look at Mr. Matt's success. He subcised with no fillers, relying on peels and suction instead.

Hyaluronindase is an enzyme used to break down the hyaluronic fillers like Juvederm. It has no effect on natural tissues, including fat.

In some cases, filler is the only way to volumize the pit. No amount of treatment can make enough collagen to fill the hole.

There's no doubt his results are good (maybe too good). But I've noticed he posted most of his pics only a month out from the treatment. That's too early IMO. In order to get an accurate assessment you really need to wait 6 months from the last treatment.

One more thing, Mr. Matt is more of an exception than the rule. Most of the people, as far as I'm aware, have complained that subcision did not work for them.

There is a dermatological test case where I saw hyaluronindase being used to treat Cutis gyrata, a condition where folds of fat develop on the head.  And for what it's worth Dr. Novick even uses it to dissolve chin fat.

Sure, use filler in subcised scars and if they slowly retether, the filler will be squeezed outward.

Less is more imo.  I had received filler injected into my depressions and they'd look fine for a few years but then retether.  After three rounds of this over about 7 years my face turned into a padded quilt.

I guess you and I can around in circle on this one. But the whole point of injecting filler in the first place was to prevent this from happening. Once the filler is correctly placed under the subcised scar, and the filler has been hardened, the probability of retethering is zero.

Mr. Matt swears by suction starting three days after subcision. He used a handheld Oreck vacuum!

Did you have fillers introduced after subcision?

@Sirius Lee you are right, not admins.. I remember 2 moderators loving this Dr ;) I have no idea where they got their references from but was so upsetting to travel so far for nothing :( no, I did not get any Sculptra, I got very demotivated after Novick and Chu.. (but Novick pretended to do some kind of sculptra on me with his ‘field subcision’ although he used a different filler approved in Israel - Sculptra like - it did nothing..) but before them I had good result with individual subcision using Belotero  - only worked for my deepest scar that never got back to its original state. What is your opinion about Genius RF?

Don't know. Never had one. But I heard that it's an upgrade version of Infini, which I've had in the past, and I would think they are now charging more for Genius than Infini. Would I want to pay over $1000 per treatment that, at best, gives about only 20% improvement? No.

I think I heard Dr. Weiner said he worked on the development of Genius RF.  There is a youtube video where he subcises and then uses the Genius RF and talks about it a bit.
