Hello
Can you advise me on how to get rid of my acne scars?
These are scars I've had for years, I live in Greece if you have any Drs to suggest.
What kind of scars do you think I have?
Thank you !

Hi there I mainly see icepicks and box cars. You need several sessions of TCA Cross. I don't see anything overly deep so you probably don't have to do subcision,

RF Needling is effective for boxcars and/or angled co2 laser at 3-7% density and the highest power just to the box car border and/or 1927nm Fraxel is effective for large pores. Several treatments of whatever you choose and shows improvement.

Finally you can do a few tca peels. If you wish dermastap or derminator at home between your treatments to the scars. Wait 3 months between at the doctor treatments, 1 month for needling, many treat over 3 years. Everything is optional.

Tretinorin/differin/retin-a nightly with a konjac and arbutin cream for cell turnover and to prevent hyperpigmentation.

I think that BA has given you superlative advice. I have nothing to add to it. I just wanted to say that you are beautiful regardless of the scarring and it looks as if you will be an excellent patient and will get outstanding results if you follow his plan. The hard part will be finding a good practitioner. I wish you the best.

Thank you so much for your reply!

-So should i do these steps in the order you wrote them, starting with Tca cross?
-Should i use a dr for the TCA cross and what % would be good for me.
-When should I use retin-a ?even right after treatment from Dr?

Have a great day!

thank you for your compliment, you gave me hope saying im a good candidate for healing well! The hard part will be finding the right Dr! Ive seen one that has a visia monitor and claims to specialise in acne however I think ill go somewhere that doesn't have such a big team (i doubt that he will do the procedures himself) as he has 2 big clinics. Also he came up as a google ads which i heard isnt great. And with furter research i found another site of his that says he specialises in every skin problem you can imagine. He does give a free treatment plan if you go,so I may end up going to see what they suggest, now that BA gave me all that advise i know what i need!

Again nothing to add to BAs comments, as he has covered everything in detail. Your scars are extremely easy to treat, providing you have the correct specialist. 95% -97% overall improvement can be achieved. If you get the right doctor, one treatment will give you a 30-40% improvement with a downtime of only 6 days max. I wish you well.

Wow that's amazing news!Thank you so much for your reply, makes me super happy!! So you think id see a 30-40% improvement with the initial TCA cross? That is topically on the scars right?

Hi @Scared angel I have scars really similar to yours and hopefully I can give you some advice so you can get really good results. Like the people above said, your scars are very easy to treat when it comes to treating acne scars because you have small icepick scars and your skin type means you wont get Hyperpigmentation or have to stretch out treatments. When I started my treatments I tried Infini and regular microneedling which gave me no results and actually left a couple random holes from where the treatment didn't heal. I was hesitant about doing tca cross because I was scared to get a treatment done by a doctor who was carless. Since TCA cross is a very very strong chemical and you have very small holes, improper application can lead to a larger hole and cause more visable craters. This is why the doctor you pick be very experienced in TCA cross and be able to guide you well. My advice to you is to find a proper doctor, if you are willing to invest the money then traveling could be an option for you as there are many famous doctors that we mention on here often that take good care of you and give you a peace of mind to know that you don't have to worry about someone messing up your treatments. My other piece of advice would be to eat as healthy as possible and try to remain fit during your treatments. It goes without saying that a healthy body is able to heal itself better than an unhealthy one and the consumption of certain vitamins and supplements really do help in the healing process. If you need any extra help DM and I can tell you what doctor I am going to and any other advice I can give, good luck!

@Scared angel

-So should i do these steps in the order you wrote them, starting with Tca cross? TCA Cross should be the main focus, you can mix with rf needling as long as you allow proper healing time between treatments. You do need rf needling for the boxcars
-Should i use a dr for the TCA cross and what % would be good for me.
Goto a Dr, they all have preferredpercentages that are higher than home DIY they can do everywherefrom 70-100%, they have to test how your skin responds.

-When should I use retin-a ?even right after treatment from Dr?
You use retin-a every night. stop when you do your treatment, when the skin heals then you start again.
