I™ve had ice pick scars on my cheeks for my entire life. Yes, imagine seeing an 8 year old with ice pick scars, that was me. Apparently I had acne when I was an infant. I™ve had these holes in my face for as long as I can remember and I feel horrible having people stare at them whenever they look at me. I still remember when a boy in middle school asking me œwhy are there little holes on your face?. I finally have the courage to post here and ask for help because this really sucks. What treatment should I get and what doctor can I go to? 585A5F5C-22B1-4FF3-AD11-6DBE4601EAE4.thumb.jpeg.50894068693dd95d994d116eff4f5276.jpeg0C18B8B7-A191-4AB7-AC5C-9FEA28448BFA.thumb.jpeg.3dd88e7b55cd04a051ad06c95c45d50c.jpeg405302B3-76FA-4AD9-A4BC-B90996CAB162.thumb.jpeg.894e1ad7ef528b3da8c1745f0d99f866.jpeg

Hi there, TCA cross is very effective for ice pick scars. Find a Dr near you who can do this. Fraxel, Clear and Brilliant, and rf needling also shrinks large pores (several treatments) . The process of TCA cross causes the scar bed to raise, ... the scar may become wider, repeat tca cross after a period of healing,... Angled CO2 to the box cars low density. One can eventually do peels or laser for resurfacing of surface texture.

Look for cosmetics, soaps or products that are anti sebum, (dissolve sebum).

IF you need something for hyperpigmentation (redness) following treatment, picosure laser is very effective for your skin type for discoloration and collagen production.

Spot on. TCA, add low density Co2 at an angle. This will help with the larger pick scars, then like BA said, Fraxel or Clear and Brilliant Permea 1927- 14- 20 passes on your cheeks (over ride the card). Not hard to fix.

Im currently in Nebraska but I am from Hawaii. Id probably have to fly to one of the doctors recommended on the list. Is it possible the scar bed would not raise for me? I mean how did I get ice pick scars from the first place since I was a baby? Ive never heard of a case like mine.

@Shialnu123 I have heard of many cases like this. Genetics, how you heal, disease (can cause scarring), or allergies... so many things. Your case is not that bad and should have a percentage of improvement. Do not expect glass smooth skin, that is the biggest piece of advice I can give, treatments are progressive and you need several. It's all about how you heal and your body responds, allow enough time in between.

IF you don't want to try, this is the safest thing to do. Scars can wear on the psyche, but many are happy with some improvement. Everything is individualized. I have seen many helped with the above.

Thank you for the kind understanding and patience, due to Dr Lim's endorsement of this forum we have massive new traffic, it may take me 24-hrs to get back to you.

There are a few dermatologist that have good reputations that visit Hawaii, Dr Ron Moy is one of them. He does not specialise in acne scarring, but this gentleman is very ethical with a broad skill set. Then there are other dermatologist that I will not mention (famous for his Arctic Peel) with the Scition laser. He works for Sciton. This laser is an excellent laser, but NOT for your case. The spot size of this erbium laser is too big. Go for small beam lasers. Seriously your scars are not hard. TCA with angled Co2. Performed by the correct specialist you will only need 1 session to make a 50-60% improvement. You can then transfer to the standard C and B with the card energy concentrated on your pores. Its the specialist behind the method that will give you the results. IN your case manual drops of high concentration TCA then after frosting, angled Co2 to hit the walls of your scars. Combination of man or woman and device. All the best.

Would I see any improvement if I did microneedling and chemical peels first?
