I am a 19 y/o male and have had acne scarring for about 4 years now, did accutane 2 years ago (have been off of it since June 2017) and would like to know what exactly i'm dealing with in terms of the type and the best route. I am from the Toronto Area so any recommendations on good scar specialists would be great.
I will respond to your PM I just got.... Not many good doctors in CAN unfortunately. Some patients have gone to private pay aesthetics clinics. Look for someone who does subcision and tca cross (manual methods first). If they push laser when you walk in - this isn't good. I can advise you about your scars if you send me some pics (scars make shadows - flashlight) in the PM.

I would recommend microneedling!! It works wonders for pitted scars and pigmentation! I would say that microneedling with PRP is the most effective but it is also much more expensive and does weird people out often (also known as the vampire facial). I've seen amazing results for a lot of patients that do this treatment regularly/about once a month until they're happy with their skin! It's a little pricey but totally worth it - make sure you're going to a respected and legit dermatologist to get your money's worth and to make sure you have a professional that is helping your skin, not hurting it. This is not something to do at home or skimp on! But like I said, totally worth it.
