For some reason as much as I pot my pimples It doesn't leave my skin with scars good genes I guess and my hyper-pigmentation completely fades away in a month. But scars are the worse, you can get rid of hyper-pigmentation easier then scars. Scars are much more difficult to fade some deep scars are left for life.

Scars make your face look dent with holes even makeup doesn't cover it. However makeup can cover hyper-pigmentation.

You are lucky your hyperpigmentation fades in a month, mine takes forever to heal 🙂
