Went to the docs today to change my pill because Ive noticed my acne began when i started taking it (am currently on ovranette) and it settles on my pill free week. Done some research and a forum on here suggested yasmin to be the best for acne due to the anti-androgen progestin and ovranette to be the worst due to its progestin. Asked my doc for yasmin and instead she has given me marvelon which is categorised as one that doesnt worsen or treat acne. Has anyone used this pill? Dont know whether to call back and ask for yasmin or to give it a try
I've just been prescribed marvelon today, I've been on the microgynon family of pills for about 10 years (bad for acne!) Then I tried cilest for three months which saw some improvement. Now I'm doing a three month trial with marvelon. Yasmin has more risks associated with it which might be why your doctor wants you to try a different type first. See how you go!
