Hey, I have been doing a lot of research recently about post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and post inflammatory erythema. I have dark toned skin (mum is white and dad is mixed race African/British) so so my skin is light brown, probably Fitzpatrick type IV. I currently don't suffer badly from acne, just a spot here and there which I don't mind. What does bother me are the marks that they leave behind there's a picture. I would say these look for red than brown, which suggests that this is PIE, but as I have dark skin I would have thought that I'm not as susceptible to having PIE. What do you think?
Darker skin can often have PIH, there is a very simply test. Push on them, do they go away, then it's PIE, if not it's PIH. IT could be either.
These are not scars as some often think..., they are wounds that take a long time to heal,
