Acne Scarring - Microdermabrasion?

Hello, this is my first post here :)

I have mild acne scarring on my cheeks and its really been getting me down. I have had microdermabrasion in the past when my scarring was much worse ad it worked wonders, all my scarring left. But unfortunately due to stress and a lot happening in my life this year I broke out again and was left with more scars.

Because I live in a new city I don't have access to my ex skin specialist so have been looking for other good clinics in my area. I found one the other day and they offer really affordable microdermabrasions. But the beauty therapist actually advised I go for a derma pen treatment instead.

6 treatments of the derma pen would be $720.
6 microdemabrasions would be $210.

What I want to know is how many treatments do you think I would need of the microdermabrasion, and has that worked for your scarring? Also, thoughts on the derma pen? Its a bit out of my price range, but if you guys think its worth it over the microdermabrasion I would consider it.

Would you consider purchasing your own device? I know that some people prefer to be treated by a specialist and that's fine. Purchasing your own device can save money.
