Healing Of The Skin: Accutane Vs Retin-A

When I was on accutane it took significantly longer for my skin to heal than before I started the course. Does Retin-A, on the other hand, speed up the healing process? And if so, why? It seems a bit confusing to me since both treatments are kind of similar, except one is taken orally and the other topically. I plan on using Retin-A in a few weeks for my red marks which didn't improve much during my accutane course.

It is hard to say... Accutane does paralyse a set of metabolic processes related to lipids... maybe you weren't getting enough lipids quickly enough to the inflamatory cascade to rebuild tissue.... just a guess. The difference may simply be accounted for by the strength of the effect aswell.
