So today I visited a private dermatologist (uk) to discuss my acne. He asked me for no medical history, so I told him I had done a course 4 years ago but it had started to return all be it far milder. I did not have a single active spot....Some red marks and a few under skin small bumps and he instantly, after no examination of my skin, tried to prescribe another course of accutane.

I was so shocked....I had to tell him that I'd recently had high liver function tests.

I don't want to do a second course....The first was bad enough!

He then asked me what no wanted to do. Well you're the doctor!!!

Have decided to try some antibiotics and epiduo for a bit and see how it goes.

I'm horrified that this drug is given out so easily!! But hoping I've made the right decision.
