Hello everyone.

I have these raised white marks on my lower/mid back.

They've been there for quite a while and don't change.

unless I sit down in a certain position or stretch the skin in a certain position you can't see but the biggest of them.

My mid to lower back is the only place I have these.

My derm looked at maybe one of them halfway out of the room (hate that)

and gave me her opinion.

I won't share that with you just yet as I would LOVE to hear yours!

I've been suffering from mild to moderate acne for over 10 years now.

Attaching two photos!

Photos are closeups and back looks nowhere near as bad as this.

Thanks a MILLION!

pete!

Pete,

I have EXACTLY the same thing. It is called Perifollicular Elastolysis or Follicular Macular Atrophy. One would think it wouldn't be too hard to cure since it almost disappears when you stretch the skin but no one seems to know.

It may be my imagination but it seems some of them have become less noticeable over time but some have not for sure. It is definitely scar tissue.

I was in the process of looking into treatments when I realized I still was breaking out enough to where I needed to get rid of that once and for all first so instead I started accutane.

Curious what your derm said?? Those I talked to said laser and peels, but one even kept calling them Keloids.. LOL @ her.

my derm just called them scars! Thanks for the more in depth analysis. Ill look into it more.

Doesn't really bother me all that much honestly. Only the biggest of them are noticeable.

I just don't remember having that much acne on my lower back lol to leave that much scar tissue!!

Hey Pete. Yeah it is pretty much exactly the same for me. Unfortunately, I have ALOT of them. Probably 100s. They do kind of flatten with time really except the bigger ones are pretty wrinkly and noticeable.

Certain lighting, hot/cold etc seem to also make them more or less noticeable. My shoulders/shoulder blades etc, mid/lower back latts etc are covered but it is most noticeable on my shoulders and back area.

I am trying scar sheets once they get here. I will let you know.

I too have them in places where I never really remember having serious acne, it is pretty weird but I guess if you are pre disposed to this type of scar it is easy to obtain.
