Did you do anything to those? I am very sad looking my face now, especially here in asia, most of the girls have smooth skin... is it possible to reduce the appearance? Even when i use make up, i still can see clearly all the pores, especially in some harsh lighting such as sunlight etc

Will it affect the pores? Actually i already used retina every night and i dont see any effect on my pores, ive been used it for almost a year... my dr said that i should take low dose isotretinoin (10mg) a day and it will help to shrinking the pores, wht do you think?

isotretinoin is accutane.

do u want to take accutane only to shrink the pores?

go through posts and threads on accutane here.

i had it when i had bad acne problem.1st 20mg and then 10mg.

i will find out more abt this issue n let u know if i find anything.

low% bha wash should help.

like a salicylic acid wash is suppose to kinda keep u dry.unclog ur pores and also remove the upper dead cells easily.

over the time it should keep u good if not improve magically.

@aanabil did it work for you? How about doing rf? Or do you know any laser treatment for my condition?

@theoneandonly i cant do dermarolling since here in singapore the govt banned dermarolling..

My docs suggest me to take isotretinoin for 3 months and he said it helps in reducing pores size... and i went to another plastic surgeon and he suggest to do the rf teraphy (infini lucrotix)..

ACCUTANE should be avoided unless if u acne.for most face bad or very bad side effects.

considering that to use accutane to only to reduce pore size is not a great idea.

accutane is said to actually reduce the size of the sebaceous glands.so he's told u that.

i was not having bad acne after accutane.

Large pores are just due to genetics unfortunately. You can use clay masks, AHA's, BHA's and exfoliate to try to reduce the appearance of pores.

I've used witch hazel to close and shrink my pores, you should try it out.

Please make sure to use a product specific for acne though.

Good luck.

Dermarolling most definitely helped with my larger pores. As someone said, genetics plays a huge part in our pore size but you can alter this with the right treatments. I personally think you should give Dermarolling a go and maybe grab some awesome skin products, namely that which contains vitamins A, B and C!

Also, when applying makeup look for a really good primer (I use one by Dermaquest). The one I use almost fills my pores but it does not clog them afterwards. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid which is important to keep the skin hydrated and healthy. :) http://dermaquest.com.au/products/dermaminerals/dermaperfection-primer

If you do look into the Dermaroller ensure that you are treated by a professional and only with the ORIGINAL Dermaroller (as per www.dermaroller.de).

Good luck! xx

actually i have using retina every night for months and to be honest, there are no improvement whatsoever, only my skin looks brighter, but to my pores/acne scars not improving... and for dermaroller, sadly it is not available here in singapore, the gov has banned it. so, i went to 2 plastic surgeon, one suggested me to do radiofrequency treatment (using infini lucrotix rf) for my scars and pores, and the other suggested to do micropeel+profractional laser, any has done these treatments? are there any improvements for those who did one of these treatments?

For scarred pore, it is said that dermarolling and tca cross can somewhat improve them. But it really need patience, I just finish my third needling and have mild improvement for the scarred pore, but I have heard that you will get optimum result after ten treatments. I start to lose my patience OMG. BTW, can't you buy a dermaroller from ebay and just do it yourself. Its quite esay.
