Why Only In Certain Places?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place for this topic but I wasn't sure where else to post it.

Basically, for all the time I've suffered (must be about 4 years now, im 22 next week), 95% of my acne has been around my lower jaw, mouth and chin. And it's persistently in the same places all the time. Every so often I'll get 1 or 2 spots between my eyebrows. or im the crevices of my nose.

I was just wondering is there any kind of medical links as to why one would get acne only in one area?

I'm experiencing the same thing, and I think it might be because of shaving.

You can see my thread where I included pictures - perhaps we are both victims of poor shaving habits.

Definitely a possibility, considering it has been in the last the last 4-5 years or so when I've started shaving properly.

I use the nivea for men sensitive range, which is enhanced with vitamin e, chamomile, extra comfort for sensitive skin, bla bla, all that good shite that leaves you with perfectly beautiful skin. Guess it works for everyone but me though :)

I get pretty much the same recently, but I haven't shaved in a month around there. I'm thinking that it could be due to toothpaste since it's more around my mouth than anywhere else.

You should look into replacing your toothpaste with one that is SLS-free - I did some research and apparently it causes breakouts for some people.

Ok cool, thanks for the advice.

Do you think toothpaste could really be the cause of the same constant 4 year problem though? For the last few months I've been using hammer & arm baking soda toothpaste, and believe it or not I use this on my spots themselves and it helps to reduce the swelling.

Btw what is SLS? Do you know of any brands that are indeed SLS-free?
