I, personally have done some of my own research and found the conclusion to be "safe" but please don't take my word for it. In addition to asking medical experts- do a bit of searching online. In my honest opinion- anything you put on your skin gets directly absorbed by your body, and many people say "if you can't eat it don't put it on your skin." The skin is an organ and if you can help it, please try not to use it while pregnant. Despite saying that though, the barrier protecting the baby is very advanced and I'm sure that the growth would be fine. I'm just paranoid and super organic in my habits but I feel for you on the baby vs skin thing...
