Tca Peeling Percentages

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

does anyone know the calculation of the TCA-Peel strengths?

More precisely:

How do multiple layers alter the concentration of a peel?

Example: Does a two-layered 20% TCA-Peel equal a one-layered 30% TCA-Peel.

Does anyone know how to compare TCA strengths mathematically?

Anyone with decent advice would be a big help to me.

Im looking forward to you answers.

Cheers

I don't think there is an algorithm.

I also don't think you can say 2 layers of this equals 1 layer of that.

As far as I know, TCA is applied to the face until frosting appears. I don't think a doctor would allow your skin to frost then put another layer of 20 percent on top of already frosted skin, but then again I'm just assuming.

No you're right! Once skin has frosted that's it, you can't put more tca on top of that.

I've been reading about tca peels recently. Say you apply a layer of 12.5% tca to your face and let that sit for a max of 5 mins. Then you apply a second layer for a few mins. You get about a 25% boost every extra layer you add on. That would make it a 37.5% tca peel.

Don't do more than one layer your first time.
