are here some people who are suffering from the same problem?

and could it be an accutane side effect?

i'm on accutane(20 mg/day) for some time now.

thanks a lot!

Yep accutane can cause eye problems, and if u started out w/eye floaters or eye problems it could make it worse.

how long on it? can happen from dryness.

accutane amazing for clearing skin, but those dreaded pores no! mine are still annoyingly clogged. Does anyone know if accutane does clear up pores long-term or if they clog back up once off. Also, i'm only on 10 mg day so maybe not enough??

I would talk to your derm and let them know(though they will probably deny accutane being the cause) and also get your eyes rechecked by and eye specialist since you have more floaters that have appeared since starting accutane.

It does state in your Roche/accutane info that it can cause eye problems, which could mean a wide variety of things.

I have floaters now and yes they have stayed.

Oh wow! I've had these all of my life and never knew there was a term for it. I mean, I've heard of floaters, but to see the actual picture made me gasp. I thought everyone had these. Learn something new every day. :)

oli girl:

how bad your floaters are? is it very annoying for you to spend time in the sun without sunglasses?

Emhfali- When I first got them they were bad, I had little dots and lines or whatever they call them. I had them nearly 24/7 it seemed. It was annoying. I still have them just not as bad everyday. Some days are better then others.

I do have problems w/sunlight and bright lights and my eyes became more dry after accutane course was over and still are dry.

I will be going back to the eye doc soon to try something elese for the severe dry eyes and to have them check my retina just to make sure it is okay from the floaters and just in general from taking accutane.

Just go have them checked, and not sure what your dose is,but if u continue accutane maybe consider lowering it. It is possible that accutane has made the floaters worse and I wouldn't suggest picking up just any drops until u have them checked & spoke w/ a doc. Make sure u are drinking mounds of water too. Maybe check and see if it is okay to take GLA supplement or another supplement that good for the eyes that doesn't have Vit A in it.

Siava- You do learn something everyday, how interesting to read that vitreous syneresis has to do w/collagen and hyaluronic acid considering accutane depletes theese. Makes sense why some get floaters from accutane.
