Hi guys,

Last year I got 3 quite bad pimples. The pimple seemed to heal after a few days however, they left raised bumps where the pimples were. I believe this is hypertrophic scarring. It is red and raised. I have seen almost no change in height since a year at this point. In normal lighting ( at home or indoors) when you look straight at it, it may look like its flat but from various other angles and specially in natural light you can see its a bit raised and lumpy. Moreover, i noticed that these scars get more inflammed and red when my face gets hot or when i sleep and wake up ( they are usually very inflammed at this time). It feels soft but thicker than any other part of the face because it is raised.

I visited a dermatologist about 8 months ago for my acne and she had prescribed me low dose accutane( my acne was not severe). I talked about these scars to her several times but she just did not acknowledge or diagonse them. She said its normal and that she does not specilise in scars at the moment so she cant treat them. She just asked me to try differin gel. I asked her about steriod shot and she said the height of the scar is not big enough for it.

These scars make me SO insecure its crazy. Even though my skin is completely clear right now and I am not breaking out these spots make it look like i have active acne. For some reason this side of my face has alot of texture. Please have a look at the picture to get an idea.

I would love some advice on what treatments i should be looking for. Also, I am in Australia- Melbourne area so if any of you know a good dermatologist or scar revision specilist please let me know! It is so hard to find a good dermatologist who actually listens.
