Hi. I'm in my 20's, I've been suffering with acne on my back for around 9 years. I took a course of Isotretinonin a few years ago and that mainly helped reduce acne on my face.

As you can see I still have spots developing on my back but the scarring is what is worrying me.

Could anyone advise/informally diagnose the type of scarring I have and the treatment is available? Also any other info such as whether it may heal/improve naturally or how effective treatment will be, would be most appreicated.

Many thanks for your contributions.

If you are worried about the "spots", I might be able to help you. Do you also have dandruff? Have you taken antibiotics ?

I cannot help with the scarring. But I might be able to help with treatments for the "spots".

@ricky.b100Are you referring to your body acne? If so get a body wash for acne, apply and let set for 10 minutes or so, then wash off. They even have a applicator to reach your back. This can be from a excess of testosterone, hormones, genetics, bacteria / fungal, etc. It's best you have a dermatologist take a look at this and see if you might also need a prescription of a topical antibiotic or accutane. Many find Foods like dairy, sugar, processed carbs, can make it worse. Eatting lots of fruits and veggies is fine.

If the acne body wash does not work, buy a shampoo called Nizoral and put that on in the shower, let it set, and shower. This is for fungal acne.

If you have chest or back scars, this is called hypertrophic scarring. Please see the post in the hypertrophic sub by Dwalt pinned to the top for solutions. Find it by scrolling above, clicking the word hypertrophic, and it should be there.
