no i havent yet. i'm going for a few more fraxel restore dual treatments and then if that doesnt do anything i will have dermabrasion. i would have gone right for the dermabrasion now but the place i was going to go to wants me to stop taking spironolactone for 2 weeks and that makes me too nervous so that is a last resort for me.

Hi guys, do your bumps look like this?? I hate them so much. I do not have acne currently. Just these painless strange bumps. Did any of your treatments work?

yeah they look like scars to me unfortunately. i am doing fraxel restore now and just had one last week so right now they look flatter but i will wait a few weeks to really be sure because i could still be swelled. i think dermabrasion is probably the best way to go but i do wonder if fraxel repair or total fx would work well provided you had a series of treatments. one thing i did hate about the co2 laser (100% ablative) is that when the doc went over my scars the area instantly swelled up so it made it tough on the doc to see where to do another pass.

i think with the dermabrasion since there is no heat involved the area doesnt swell like that so it makes it easier to keep going over the area until its flat with the rest of the skin. the guy i went to see for a consult told me he would go over the high parts until they were level with the rest of the skin then he would lightly dermabrade the entire chin area to blend it all in and then feather out the sides of the chin so there wouldnt be a line of demarcation. unfortunately though they want me off spiro for 2 weeks to do the surgery so i am waiting to see if i can get results from the restore first before i take that chance.

one question for you did you have a lot of acne in that area? the areas on my chin where i have the raised scars are areas where i never broke out much at all so its all very odd to me. i noticed it probably almost 3 years ago it just appeared one day. my derm though i had perioral dermatitis so i used the cream she wanted me to use and stuff but it never went away. since then i have seen many docs and derms and they all say its raised scarring. so freaking strange to me!

hey i just saw your post. even though we talked via private messaging i wanted to update this thread anyway. on sept 8th i saw dr. nelson novick in nyc and he looked at my scars and said they were hypertrophic and injected them with kenalog. they do look better but i would like to have the one scar injected again at some point. he does want to needle them as well later on but that wont be for a while since both of my cats are sick. anyway i am so glad i found this doc but pissed that i struggled with these scars for 3 years and did so many laser treatments and chemical pills when a few little shots is all i needed to see them going down a bit. i will update again when i get back to nyc sometime in the future.

Hey Tracy, how are your hypertrophic scars doing?Did the injections work on them? i think that I have two of them on my nose and I don't really know what to do.I were thinking to go with the diy dermarolling but I am a little scared. Can you please put some pictures so I can see how they look...I am leaving some of mine so you can tell me what you think 🙂
I hope you reply.

i dont have any recent pics of them but i still need to go back and get more injections. they are flatter but not totally flat yet. after i get them injected again the doc was going to micro needle them and then do something to help with the white color. you should totally get yours injected but find a good reputable derm to do it. good luck!!

Thanks for replying Tracy, btw I think I should go to a dermatologist so he can tell me what I really have on my nose because I'm not sure if it is an little hypertrophic scar or is just a big blackhead under my skin that won't go away.
I leave some pictures(you can clearly see it only with certain light) and I hope you can help me. :)

Hey Tracy. Just wondering how it went with your scars? I know it's been a while but I just seen your thread and you sound like you have something similar to me. I'e had them for like 3 or 4 years, had co2 laser 2 years go and It didn't work for me. bumps returned and I now have hypopigmentation. Plastic surgeon said injections would cause them to indent and there's nothing else he can do and apparently it would look worse (which I doubt). I'm seeing a derm but I live in Canada and the wait is a year.
