Is this a hyper-pigmentation mark?

It was left behind after a massive cyst popped about 5 months ago. It has slightly reduced in redness but not by much. What should I do about this? Currently I™m washing my face twice a day with dermalogica special cleansing gel, after that I apply dermalogica rescue and then  dermalogica moisturizing lotion. I do all of that when I wake up in the morning and before I go to bed. I™m also on a probiotic and I spend about 1.5 hours a day in a swimming pool.

The mark itself isn™t extremely large but it is very noticeable, it™s slight indented in to the skin.

Hi Worriedperson,

Brown marks are called Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH)
Red/Pink/Purplish marks are referred to as Post Inflammatory Erythema (PIE)
From your image it seems you suffer from PIE. As for the mark near your nose, it appears you been an actual scar that might also cause the skin to become discoloured.
PIE can be treated with vitamin A (Retinols or Tretinoin).
PIH on the other hand can be treated with hydroquonine.
As for your nose scar, you might want to go to a dermatologist to get accurate treatment advice.

Cheers,
Sab
