Hello This is my first post on this side and i look forward to meet you all. Quick details:-
Age-16, Gender- male, My acne started 5 months before, they weren™t that serious nor severe back then but afterawhile those pimples caused alot of scarring and red hyper pigmentation spots on my face. Now my face is covered with these red spots, they are like circle deep bumps not PIMPLE.
i went to the dermatologist 2 months before and he put me on accutane(istretorene something) and told me to eat it twice while prescribing me a face wash which contained sycloric acid as i remember + a vitimin C serum and an exfoliating cream to apply at night with an acne cream. My spots have healed pnly about 2% even though i am not consuming any gluten food+ dairy products while loads of water. Pleasee help me getting rid of these marks and hit me up with advice. Thankyouu. Btw I hope these pictures are enought to evaluate xD. Im super stressed but i try to be positive someone help me out. it would be appreciated.7CB21ED5-5C7F-43BB-9A87-1DB77B602CFD.jpeg.b872aaf66c7862fa5411fc9dda666e99.jpegBDB0E22E-AEE7-445A-91A4-AD7C6DBDD4E9.jpeg.2d92093f2be77e533082ce5af0d2331d.jpeg

These are not scars they are wounding post acne. Or PIE.Vascular laser works on pigment. There are cheaper treatments you can try first. I wrote the FAQ for this section top of the hyperpigmentation sub. Wounding takes a long time to heal, up to a year without treatment, some use honey and aloe. Emu oil also helps fade spots.

Thanks alot for your message. I just researched a bit on PIE. Which is indeed my pigmentation type. My doctor recommended me a vitamin C serum, accutane and A pigmentation exfoliating reveal gel. Are these the right prescription? He also told me to get a laser treatment. Is honey effective and how much time will it takes for my PIE pigmentation to completely go away? Thanks a bunch :)

If you don't have active acne then there is no reason to go on Accutane? If you do your acne isn't bad enough for it anyway.

Try vitamins orally as well. Such as zinc and vitamin c

Thanks for your reply, yep i was also thining of leaving accutane as it have a lot of side effects specially my lips have gone dry. I™ll add zinc and vitamin c in my diet even though i eat alot of fruts, i also took omega-3 capsules. This is the vitamin C syrum btw which i applly on my spots in the morning.

Progress report: Not much progress, Redness reduced but I got few pimples that popped up probably because of not eating well during the past few weeks.
Went to the dermatologist, New facewash and he told me to Come for a cortisone injection for my spots. Is it the right thing I should be treated with? Will my PIE heal by it? An answer would be appreciated:)

hi, sorry this is late, mine is exactly like yours..
my dermatologist prescribed me Retin-A and clindamycin lotion.

id really recommend drunk elephants vitamin c though AND SPF!! spf with only zinc and titanium oxide...

at least 10% zinc oxide
only physical spf not chemical

you really need to wear SPF or it will get worse

Its August now and my pigmentation hasnt gone but increased. Im really sad and stressed, and insecure daily before heading out. My acne breakouts have finished but the marks wont go away, i started using Calamine lotion as it doesnt strain my face. I hope some of you might reach out to me and give me a lil hope.

This is my skin right now, I literally dont know what to do anymore or what steps to take. I am still in my teen period so getting any laser is kinda hard for me. Seeing how i went from a perfectly good skin to this breaks my heart.
this pic is with calamine lotion on so its way more worse without it. any help would be appreciated

I think they do look better, I know it's to see that on yourself. It take a while and it doesn't look like it is getting worse. Be patient. Eventually they will fade, and if any stubborn scars remain you can try laser therapy. That's a long way off at this point, though, since you seem to be having some success.

Thanks for the encouraging reply. I am trying my best to be patient and not go overboard on applying stuff. hopefully time will heal them and i might get laser later on
