These last few months have been an emotional rollercoaster, I went from seeing great improvement in my skin & actually being in a place of contentment.. to having this horrific out break that I'm unsure the cause of. The tiny bumps started off on one side of my cheek and was only noticeable in certain lighting & then it spread throughout my entire face. After doing a great amount of research I concluded it could've been one of two things, closed comedones, an allergic reaction from using a new cosmetic product I introduced into my " skin care regime" or from over exfoliating my skin while using tretinoin. The Bumps are starting to get smaller in size however I've noticed it's leaving behind hyperpigmentation, I've been using hydroquinone 4% on the marks for a little over 2 weeks and I suppose I see a difference in colouration. I've suffered from acne since I was 8 yrs old and it's had a great affect on my self esteem, I've been avoiding taking accutane because of the side and because I suffer from mild persistent acne but I'm at my end of options. I took my first blood test yesterday for it and I'm really hoping this is the thing that works out for me. I have very textured skin and I'm hoping accutane can improve that. My dermatologist was telling me that overtime the accutane would help with the hyper pigmentation yet on this site I've actually read the quite opposite.
It seems to differ per person. I'm on month 3 of Accutane right now and I've got 0 acne left and my scars and post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation has disappeared. No redness or enlarged pores. You just have to make sure you are using the right products (keep your skin moistened very well with careful GREEN products) and are not doing or eating anything to disrupt the medicine.
