Ive had acne for about 5 years now. I used to get big pimples but those have basically been long gone now.

i'm really struggling with red marks and some scarring. My cheeks are really red and when I take off my shirt you can tell even more how red my face is compared to my body.

Any products that you guys think I should use?

I've been trying to go without products these past 2 years and I dont break out anymore but the facial redness/scarring has not healed and I'm looking to improve my face before school.

Would this be a good product to use for my skin: La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [Edited link out]

Thank you for the help beforehand

I strongly recommend you not to pursue any strong treatments as your skin looks pretty good. Your scars are very shallow and barely noticeable. Redness is not so clear from the picture either. If anything, try weak treatments like AHA cleanser or lactic acid peel at the maximum.

I have not used the product you posted, so I can't comment much on it. However, it contains BP, which is very harsh on skin. I've never had any luck with BP, but some people swear by it. It really depends on your skin type.

Yea I feel like BP irritated my skin alot too when I used it a few years back.

Now my cheeks are red compared to the rest of my body. Im just trying to clear the red marks and maybe that would improve my scarring as well.

You think AHA alone can do this?

Unfortunately, I can't tell you for sure. I know some people have success with AHA cleanser alone. Some say AHA lotion in conjunction works better. Some say lactic acid peel works the best. All I can say is choose a treatment that is the least irritating to skin to minimize complication. Personally, I've never had success with AHA (cleanser, lotion, and peels), but keep in mind that everybody acts differently to each treatment. FWIW, I have a brown and dark toned skin with excessive sebum.
