Getting Rid Of Hyperpigmentation Without Erasing My Freckles?

I had crystal clear, baby smooth skin until a few months ago, when my birth control caused my hormones to freak out. Now it's all freshly subsiding, but I'm left with some red marks. I understand that these things do take time, so I'm practicing patience here buuut I'd like to ease along the process. My only concern is that I have lots of freckles I'd like not to lose along with the redness. My derm prescribed me Retin A to help with acne but I've been hesitant to use that, as he said it could fade freckles as well. Anyone with freckles have similar experience? Or advice on treatment that I could use?

Despite what people have told you on this website, red marks are not hyperpigmentation. Pigmentation implies melanin, which is brown in colour as opposed to red. They are excess blood at the site the acne took place, anything that deals with PIH will not help red marks, the only thing that really does is time. The Retin a may fade your freckles, but they would come back anyways. Your skin looks like it should heal up nicely so I wouldnt stress too hard if I were you.

I have freckles, and I've been using Retin-A for about six or seven months. If they've faded, I haven't noticed.

Good luck!
