I Don't Know How To Fix My Hyperpigmentation, Please Help

I'm a male african-american and have been dealing with my hyperpigmentation scars for about 3 years. One half of my face is normal looking, and the other half is much darker than my natural skin-tone. I normally wouldn't post on here but after trying a couple different treatments I really have no idea what to do next.

I wash my face normally and have done skin lightening creams, and three different Glycolic Acid peels at 20%, 30%, and I've been using 60% and the crazy part is...it hasn't affected me one bit. I can feel the burning sensation as I'm doing the peel but my skin never flakes or drys or peels at all. I've used the whole bottle over the course of about 7 months.

Is there anything out there that can show me results? Or should I goto the dermatologist? I've never been to one but after becoming disparate I'm about to just schedule an appointment. I feel so down .

Here's two pictures that can hopefully show it better. As you can see, one side of my face looks fine. And the Left side is alot darker than my natural tone. Please help, thanks in advance guys.

Honestly I can't see a difference your saying the left is lighter?

That looks deep. PIH is more difficult to treat in darker folks because we're excluded from a fair few of the treatment options. I'd say your best bet would be to see a derm and ask about a laser treatment. From the look of it, it appears to be too deep to treat with topicals. Frustrating I know.

You could try using tretinion cream for that, but it won't be a quick fix either. Ask your dermatologist about tretinion or retin-A before resorting to lasers as the down time and possible aggravation of PIH are something to consider in pigmented skin.

Thank you guys, I'll definitely start looking into those options and I got the impression it would take some time to heal it. I'll make another post after my first appointment and tell you what my dermatologist recommends.
