Zit Forming Under Scab?!

So 5 days ago, I decided to do stupidly pop a pimple. It wasn't a whitehead or anything, but there was this bump on my face and it felt a little hard. There was no redness or anything, and it didn't hurt when I touched it. After a minute or two of violently squeezing my skin, Nothing came out of that zit. I was so confused, I decided to poke a hole into the bump with a small needle. After I tried squeezing it again, a very small layer of my skin fell off. I decided to stop immediately. The next day I woke up, there was a dark red crust scab on my face. I was able to cover it up with makeup on the first day, but I somehow wasn't able to cover it up on the second day. Being the idiot I am, I picked it and it started bleeding again. I woke up the next day with a pink patch on my skin. I've been moisturizing it with Aquaphor and apply a bandaid over it for the past three days. I finished taking a shower today and I felt some of the crusty layers from the scab fall off, which made me incredibly hopeful. However when I got out of the shower, there was a faint light pink patch on my face, and I think I see a head forming. The area is a little raised, which may mean that a pimple is forming under the slightly healed scab. What should I do? I'm getting tired of wearing a bandaid on my face to school and it's only been three days!

i struggle with the same issue... i think the hardest for me is to NOT pick of the scabs. I really know the feeling of something forming underneath a scab and the feeling of "I HAVE TO REMOVE IT !!! "

The absolute best thing to do is to not pick !! i know its hard. :(  When you pick at your skin, you stress the skin and your pore-lining becomes deformed (i have learned about this from Paula's Choice articles/youtube videos and from my own experience sadly). The skin becomes inflamed/irritated and if you have picked your way through the epidermis (the first layer of skin), exudate/oozing will start forming from the wound... This is a mechanism your skin does to REMOVE foreign cells/microorganisms to prevent infection etc. Then the scab forms, and macrophages start to work at the wound at some point.
These macrophages and other white blood cells die at some point. They are what the "head forming" looking thing is beneath the scab. If you pick of the scab to remove the white-stuff the whole process will have to restart, and the scar-tissue is even harder for the skins own mechanism to remove --> leading to an even darker/larger/deeper post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation (PIH) spot.

I hope this explanation gives somewhat argument against the issue of picking off the scab.

I struggle with this my self, and have a lot of PIH. Its a bitch to cover with makeup.

So the best advice, again... dont pick off the scab, continue with the aquaphor/keeping the scab moist. You could try applying an AHA to speed up the process a bit.

if its a zit forming, wait until the scab falls off by it self when you wash your face or something like that, and gently push it out using 2-3layers of tissue paper around your fingertips, a quetip or similar..  the stuff underneath your nails is really filled with bacteria/bad things, and it will compromise the skins healing process even more ..

Hope this helps a bit !! feel like i have written a novel :b
