OK.... I had this big white pimple according to me mom and she popped it. Later I noticed a bump on the same spot. I knew there was something inside. So I would squeeze it as I hard as I could but nothing. By accident my nail scratch the top of it of and a small scab formed. Since I was small I've never been not able to not just pick at it. I messed with it and it began to look bigger and darker and redder. Finally I popped it and whitish yellow too came out. By this point I have a huge scab on my forehead that was really dark. I took a shower and when I wiped my face with the towel and the scabb got ripped off. Now I now i have the big circle of redness and flesh basically like right next to my eyebrow. I'm afraid it will come back as a really dark scab and in the end turn into a white scar on my face. I already have enough white scars on my legs and arms. What should I do?
Dear Em826:
I hope you did not get some infection, and from you story you will probably end up with some scarring which may or may not resolve on its own. At this point it would be the best that you call your doctor and explain her your situation just as you have explainedit to us. Here is something to remember for the future:
Avoid picking, or squeezing pimples. This is a classic advice that you can find everywhere. If you pick and squeeze pimples in an uncontrolled, impulsive fashion with your fingernails you are setting yourself up for worse acne. Ideally you should not do it at all, but if you really have to, and the pimple is really making you unhappy, then wash your skin, wash your hands, sterilize a sewing needle over a fire, wipe off any char from the needle with rubbing alcohol, and gently go with the tip of the needle through the tip of the pimple (tip-to-tip method). Try not to nick normal skin and cause excessive bleeding. Gently press the skin with your knuckles about 1/4 of an inch away from the pimple in attempt to empty it, then leave it alone. Finally, wipe the area with rubbing alcohol. However, always make sure not to squeeze any pimple within the so-called "danger triangle of the face", which is an area from the corners of themouthup to the bridge of thenose, including entire nose and areas inside of it. If you squeeze a pimple in this area, you may push pus into brain circulation, which may cause life-threatening brain infections.
I wish you all the best and let's keep fighting pimples together!
