That should say they have been present for 3 POINT 5 years, not 35. For some reason the formatting removed the decimal point.

I have the exact same thing and have been trying to find a solution for a while. This only started after I finished my course of accutane and never had it before that. For anyone else that also has pores sticking out of their nose that started after accutane, please reply to this message and anything that has helped cure it. Thanks!

@opeia1 if these started to show up after you took accutane, do you also have dry eyes because of accutane? My eyes have also been dry after accutane and I am thinking these pores and my dry eyes are linked somehow.

@ay Im dealing with the same issue after completing Accutane. I even did another low dose course (5 mg for 6 months). While I was on Accutane, it completely went away, but once I stopped, it came back. I also tried tretinoin, BHA, exfoliations, etc, but it didnt help much. Cutting down on sugar, oily foods, and red meat and eating more fish seemed to reduce the appearance a little, but other medications didnt really make much of a difference.

Yes, I still have to use eye drops every day. A few of the glands on my upper eyelids are blocked at the moment and I noticed they also have little white plugs! I do remember reading that accutane can lead to long-term problems with dry eyes.

Your reply is good timing as I saw a dermatologist about a separate issue yesterday, so I had a chance to ask about these plugs. I showed him a picture of them and he said it was a follicular keratin thing. He said using BHA should help to get rid of them and recommended the Paulas Choice 2% toner. Its expensive but Superdrug do a version of it for a fraction of the price so Im going to give it a go.

If I recall correctly, accutane permanently reduces oil production in your face. I wonder if it could be a weird over-compensatory thing for some people and maybe its something we just have to manage rather than cure.
