Hello everyone.
I had an oily face before, like a good sheen on my U-zone and a bit on the top of my forehead and that's about it. In November of last year, I used Benzoyl Peroxide and this apparently bumped up my oily skin and made it worse than before. It made me oily like never before and it hasn't reduced at all. All my nose and T-zone suddenly started producing so much oil and I never had this before. They were always matte and dry.
Could BP have caused this? If it did, and you encountered this, how did you do it to resolve it?
If you do a search for sebum increase and benzoyl peroxide you will find there have been studies that showed an increase in sebum when people use benzoyl peroxide. It is unknown if you are actually making more oil or the oil just looks more pronounced because of other factors. Unfortunately, I have not found a way to resolve this.
I have been using a foaming cleanser I have on my face for quite some time now and been the same in sebum production all the time, with it. I have used nothing else at all, besides that. After using BP, this situation happened. I researched about this and calculated or estimate about 5 to 10 percent of people using BP experienced a alteration in sebum production.
I'm just trying to figure how to stop this sudden thing.
