Okay so I have Acne and I have these bumps especially on my Forehead that look like hard white balls inside my pores but they can look red from afar. The ones on the rest of my face look black and when I squeeze them white stuff comes out but not all of it. I have tried so many products and I am just looking for something to help manage them because I can't even use makeup on my face like foundation or blush etc. I have plain white bumps on my face and I also have papules on my face they aren't a lot but I have had acne sense about 12 years old and I am now 22 and I have the same bumps on the rest of my face on my scalp to. When I was around 18 -21 I had terrible breakouts mainly papules all over my face I felt so mortified to go out of the house I know I should be grateful with how well my skin has cleared ( I had a meticated face wash I used and it cleared up but no one sells that product any more) but I am so fair skinned and I also have facial redness where all this is around and I have scarring on my lower sides of my face specifically box car scarring. I don't do drugs nor do I smoke and have never done either. I generally eat some what well and eat home cooked meals. I never eat fast food or drink soda if I do its typically sprite or Gingerale . Any advice someone can I give me? Maybe I am just washing my face the wrong way? I don't want to go out and buy more products because lets face it products can promise all they want but nothing can actually deliver the promise advertised. Id like some tips I could use whilst washing my face and such because I know there is something I am doing wrong I just cant figure it out. Any advice thanks?
I also meant to add that my family does have acne but mine seems to be more noticable than theirs do they just typically have large pores so What gives?
What is your current face routine? what products are you using and how often?
It kind of sounds like your face is almost having a reaction to something.
Face picking and popping is terrible, but since we all do it, make sure you're wrapping your fingers in kleenex. That helps me when I extract blackheads from my nose. I also make sure that none of my fingers are touching the rest of my skin. I don't want to spread the infection when extracting and i don't want any oils from my hands getting into my face pores. Actually, I never touch my face. Only to wash it. My friends make fun of me because when I have an itch on my face, I use the ends of my hair to scratch it. My mom always told me to keep my hands off my face and it was good advice.
I use baby mild castile soap to wash my face now and I really like it. I don't use too much, since a little goes a long way, and when i'm washing make up off, I put some drops of grapeseed oil in the soap to make a it a little more moisturizing. I use witch hazel as my toner and grapeseed oil to moisturize and then 2.5 % bp for my acne. But as I've said on every other post, while bp is fanastic and it works for my acne, that wouldn't be the first thing I suggest. I can't stop using it now because I break out terribly if I don't use it for two days. Very frustrating. I truly believe my skin is "addicted" to it despite what others say about "face/skin addictions".
Cbiot-another member on here got me using apple cider vinegar. He uses it as his toner, but I use it as a mask after my cleanser. I dilute it and swipe it all over and let it dry. I feel like i can actually feel it eating away at dead skin cells and it makes my skin extremely smooth even when I have cysts and white heads.
One other think I'm playing around with is aloe vera juice. It makes my inflamed skin dramatically more calm the next day. It's not getting rid of my acne really, but i can see a difference in redness and some of my recent acne scars are disappearing and i only started using it on friday night. Maybe give it a shot and let us know how it works for you? Be sure to do some spot testing though. I wouldn't want a suggestion of mine to make matters worse.
Also, read through a lot of the old topics on here. I've been learning some great information even from years ago.
