My response to Diane has been okay so far, done 1.5 months so far......but I started it with accutane so it's very difficult to know what is doing what....

I do not believe in accutane changing mood/sex drive...... so anything that happens that way I will blame on Diane. I have noticed some mood changes that are not in the norm, so I have to monitor that closely.

My libido is also a huge concern for me, since I will not sacrafice my relationship with him to be on this pill. Accutane will clear my skin well enough, I see no need to put hormones into my body that will probably screw everything up.

I'm going to go see an endocronolagist (sp?), if he says that Diane will mess with my hormones so badly as to throw me and my life/sex drive/personality, I will stop taking them that day right there.

My search continues for a non-hormonal form of birth control.

It took me about 3 months to clear up on Diane35 but my emotions were out of control and my sex drive was at 0. I had clear skin but it wasn't worth it to me. My legs also started to hurt, which scared me due to blood clots.

This is only my 5th day using Diane. I'm experiencing really bad breakouts on my face right now, but from what I've read, that's normal at the beginning. I haven't experienced any side effects from the pill, except the breakouts. I hope my skin clears up soon!! My breakouts are on the side of my face & my forehead. My hair covers the ones on the side of my face so thats good, but the ones on my forehead are hard to cover without makeup. I've used medications that worked short term but my doctor perscribed this one so it can work long term. I hope it gets better soon!

I think today marks my second week on the pill. I have had bad acne all my life. Sometimes it goes away, sometimes it comes back. I laugh at the doctors who say that food is not a contributor to acne. But anyways, I got tired of fighting this never-ending battle, so now I'm using Diane 35. I have seen how it has cleared my friend's acne, and I am hoping for the same result. Last year November or December I got a breakout of little blackheads all over my forehead. To make a long story short, this breakout was horrible. I have used Differin Gel, Stiemycin and proactive to help clear it up, and it is working slowly but surely. But I know that I need internal help also for acne as well. The only time I can remember ever having a FULL acne clear up is when I went on oral antibiotics for a time. I hope diane 35 works for me. At this point, I don't care how long it takes for diane 35 to work. I've had bad acne for 8 years plus, so waiting five months or so for an acne clearup through the pill certainly won't kill me. I am beautiful no matter what. And as for pill side effects, for the first few days I had a lowered libido, but that has passed me. My boobs did grow bigger and still are bigger. I don't experience any depression or nausea after taking the pill. I sleep just fine. Some days I have a big appetite, but self control and a healthy diet help me manage my cravings. That is all for now.

I've been using Diane for 3 years. I started when I was 19 years old now I'm 22. It cleared my skin and for scars I have monthly microdermabrasion.

But I must warned you not to stop takng it as it will make your skin worst and breakouts even more. Based on my experience I stopped Diane for 7 months because of my sexual drive's low :(. I noticed that while on Diane my skin looks glowy and smooth and people compliment me a lot about it. But when I stopped my face looks rough and oily and it doesnt have that "glow". Now I'm on it again and it will take atleast 4-6 months for my mild acne to clear up.

Hope everything works well for all of us  Don't give up on Diane yet.

most of these women have the same experience after they stop using diane. It's a must read.

Diane 35 was challenging. I was on the pill for 3 years. The first 3 1/2 months were brutal but then eventually my skin cleared  I just recently got off Diana and moved to the pill Yasmin. I decided to get off of Diane because it has the highest estrogen levels and really my acne was all cleared up. I've been on Yasmin for about 3 months now and no major breakouts. Eventually I intend to pull myself off this pill within a year...

I was on the Diane 35 for around 5 months and let me tell you, that crap ruined my life. I was very skinny before going on it and felt good aboout my weight and about myself. After being on the diane for a couple of months i put on 12 kilos and felt soo depressed and fat. Even though i have lost the wieght now i'm still feeling its effects and am always feeling self conscious. It didn't even clear my skin, in fact it made it worse. I also developed a case of anxiety and would cry al lthe time. Hey, i guess it's different for everyone. But not for me. I would definately not reccomend it. :naughty:

Oh, I'm so happy to hear that Diane 35 worked for some people.

I'm gonna start my 4th month in a few days.

My first two months were really bad. Especially month 2. Cysts were very severe with large heads. yuck.

But for the past few days my cysts decreased in size. mostly little whiteheads around my jawline and lower cheeks or close to my nose. :shifty: could it be finally working?

It scarred me big time. But I'm still hoping it will work in month 4.

Hi All,

Diane is a struggle at the begining. I know I went through it. My breakout were crazy and bad. But after the first 4 months past it started getting better. Then i had the clearest skin. I got off Diane a few months ago and I'm on Yasmin and there was no side effects with the switch. On both pills I've never gained any wait, my libido was fine and nothing out of the ordinary. The difference between both pills is that Diane has a higher estrogen level really. GOOD LUCK and keep strong

Hi...I have been on Diane 35 for almost 2 years...while the good thing is that i did not get acne while i was on it, the acne came back in full swing. I don't think its a good idea to take this pill. Honestly, its just a short-term solution. Once you decide to get pregnant, you will have to leave it anyway. Plus, the side effects include brown patches on the skin if used for a long period of time. I tried retin a after going off Diane and cleared up completely...however, i stopped using it and acne came back...now i am trying to get pregnant so i cannot use retin a for a long time..so i'm trying dan's regimen now...i think its working...

i have been on diane 35 for three months now. i am still continuing to get cystic breakouts on my chin. i was just wondering if this was normal and if suddenly acne starts to clear? and how long is expected. i know that everyone is different but i am getting impatient... the more acne i get and the longer this continues the worse scarring i have. i just want clear skin.

Prior to using Diane 35 ED or Brenda I was on Trifeme until October 2004 I was getting some break outs around my chin. Then I went to the doctors who prescribed me Diane 35 and it worked wonders for me, however now being in Canada I wasnt too sure if they provided this pill here. So I discontinued using it in August 2008, so in October 2008 I started to break out with pimples around my chin. So a combination of stress and hormones too.

I never experienced weight gain with using Diane 35 but everyone is different but my sex drive definetly affected. It is a good BCP but I never wanted to be on the pill forever. I do have another supply in my bag, from when I did go back to Oz for a holiday and to see my mum and family. So I thought okay if it gets out of control I will hop back on them. I just thought I will try and fight the pimple problem with vitamins first before going back on the pill
