I literally can't find anyone on this forum with the same problem as me, but if you have low estrogen, high testosterone, and severe acne please comment!!!!!!! I'm about to start a new birth control again but not sure if that will help. Some people say vitex but nobody knows if it actually increases or decreases estrogen. I know there aren't many women with this problem, but I'm sure this is common in men. Should i be eating soy foods? Because there is a lot of inadequate information regarding soy foods also. Like does it help increase estrogen or make shit worse??! UGHH I'm so confused and I hate that every dermatologist, gynecologist, and naturopath has blown me off! I have ovarian cysts and some doctors say I have pcos and others dont. I'm thin and I have normal insulin levels. PLEASE PLEASE IF ANYONE CAN COMMENT ON THIS PLEASE DO SO I AM OUT OF HOPE!!

Vitex actually blocks excess estrogen [apparently bad estrogens - but hey, if you're low in estrogen, I wouldn't take vitex personally...best not to mess with it]. Dumping a bunch of estrogenic foods like soy into your body probably won't solve the problem. Diet does help but it's impossible to say how much it can help for every person.

The BCP comes with its own unique pros ands cons. If you're using it to level out your hormones and estrogen, please make sure it's the right kind for you. There is a master list post of the best BCPs and contraception for acne here. Estrogenic pills like Yaz and Ortho Tri Cyclen are better for acne while androgenic ones like Alesse and Lo Loestrin Fe are absolutely not; the wrong pill can worsen acne or create acne where there never was acne before. I think at this point, you don't need to obsess over a PCOS diagnosis. It's possible to have it and not be overweight, either. I would simply live a healthy lifestyle, go Paleo, exercise, stay hydrated and avoid dairy/red meat/tea/coffee as much as possible. If contraception like an estrogenic BCP doesn't help regulate you and reduce acne, you can try androgen blocking herbs with it or Spiro if you want to give it a shot.

I hate all this BS too. You are not alone. I am so frustrated and upset by how many 'professionals' have screwed me over or given me terrible advice [like using retinoids...what a joke that was]!
