I am glad I came upon all these posts on Paragard. I have had mine in for 5 years, and yes, my acne has gone to occasional to constant. Typically, I breakout on my chin. It can be cystic or just poresoverwhelmed and blocked by too much oil. I tried many products as a lot of you have, and nothing has cleared the acne. It is very bothersome! I may also have my Paragard removed soon. In the meantime, I am beginning Retin A. My concern is whether my acne has increased because ofmy age orby the Paragard. I am 52 and getting close to menopause. Hope this makes sense. Anyone else out there my age range?

I have had paraguard since last year. 36 yo. I developed cystic acne on chin when I got it, first time in my life having real problems with acne. I have always assumed it was the fact that I went off the hormonal birth control before I got the IUD, and not the IUd itself (Since it is copper and does not contain hormones.)
