Wait so you want to start birth control, only take it for 6 weeks and then stop it?

It can take your body up to 3 months to even get used to birth control/for your periods to become regulated by it.

I've done it before and it stopped/controlled my period enough for me to have a carefree summer

Taking birth control for six weeks may not even control your period. And yes, as soon as you stop taking either birth control or spironolactone your acne will return within a few months. 
If you take birth control for acne, expect it to work only while you're on it. I will probably be on birth control for years till I'm like 45

Sometimes acne returns offer you stop accutane and sometimes it doesn't but if its from a hormonal problem chances are it will come back. Most doctors recommend females go on birth control after accutane jusdjusdt to be safe.

I find a lot of people think that once they take a pill for a while or once a topical works for a period of time, they can just stop. Unfortunately aside from accutane or outgrowing it, cacne comes back as soon as you stop whatever it it is that's controlling it, it comes back.

I'm not on birth control and haven't been since last summer (before roaccutane) I'm not too sure if my acne is hormonal or not I just don't want to start taking it again and risk ruining my clear skin when I stop, despite being off roaccutane for 3 months and being clear in this period

if your acne is hormonal chances are it will return whether you are taking birth control or not, but it won't show up with birth control because birth control suppresses it. At least not with the correct birth control for acne. But if you're fortunate the accutane got rid of acne for good. In other words, stopping birth control doesn't really cause acne, it just allows the acne to return that would have been there anyway.
If you're happy with your skin I suggest asking your doctor what their opinion is ( whether or not you should take birth control). The problem is there's no way to know for sure, its a gamble. I personally would wait and see how your skin does before taking anything else.

Thank you for all the advice - I think I'll wait for sure, not worth risking my skin after I suffered to get it this good
