Hey, I was prescribed Yacella over 2 weeks ago but the pharmacist gave me Yasmin due to not having Yacella in stock (they are the same just a different brand name). I am 9 days into taking it and I too am suffering cystic break outs  I had a bad breakout on my chin prior to starting Yasmin which are healing (slower than usual) but now have a big cyst on my right jaw and a few smaller red pimples scattered across. I don't know whether an initial break out is common on this or not though . I am also still on my period 9 days after starting this, its driving me mad. How are you finding it now with your skin is it improving?

Hi...yeh that's pretty much what I had then started breaking out on chest really bad to, I'm 2 tablets into 4th month (I skipped my break week so went straight from pack 3 to 4 as doctor said its fine).
my skin is a lot better then it was no more spots on chest a few tiny white heads on back but no more cysts on face and most my clogged pores have gone. Skin still isn't great but I do feel it's getting there but Stick to it ! I was going to give up I'm so glad I didn't hopefully another month or two and my skin will be perfect (I wish)

I'm now in my third month of taking this pill and whilst I no longer get cystic spots (I tend to get only one or two small pimples toward the end of each pack),I have gained weight which I cannot shift. My eating habits haven't changed, I experienced horrendousweight gain on dianette which I stopped due to that fact. I have decided to stop taking this pill now too as although my skin has improved, the extra weight is not worth it for me especially since I have always been extremely anxious of my weight. I hope this pill continues to work for your skin,had it not been for the weight gain I too would still be using it!

When it comes to all the contraceptive pill side effectes are to be expected - i am afraid. i was on yasminfor a bit and it gave me such bad headaches (i don;t have headaches!) that i had to stop after few weeks.
however - considering that you had no effects for a whole year it is rather suprising to me that you are having some side effects now....hmmm...have you changed your diet?

Yasmin is one of the most expensive pill out there, and in many EU countries docs are not giving them out because of the expense. It is regarded as the top progesteron only pill - but there are some other available too that are worth trying- such as Cerazette.
Another thing that you maybe could do is to run a blood test and check if your hormon levels are as they should be - maybe there is a chance that you have too much progesteron in your body now hence the "sudden" side effects.

i started yacella like 4 days ago and already my skin has broken out in cystic acne that i never had before and its making me so insecure :(( my skin was bad before but no where near this ! i know im only a little bit into the journey but has this pill actually worked for anyones skin , i know it completely cleared my friends skin but im just really not sure .
