I was on the pill (several of them actually, not at the same time) on and off for about 5-6 years. After each time I'd quit, my skin would clear up completely, and then a few months later all hell would break loose. It was a vicious cycle, but eventually every woman has to go off the synthetic hormones so you might as well start now. It took me a while to get my body back in sync, but it is doable.
