I have been watching this girls videos on YouTube for the last couple of months. She is truly amazing. I watched this video so many times in a row and I cried, because I know, (and I'm sure you all know,) how it feels to struggle with acne. This girl is so brave and beautiful and an inspiration. Please take the time and watch this 3 minute video , she just uploaded it yesterday
This went viral fast. Posted yesterday, already has over 600,000 views.
People don't know how bad this hurts. She did a pretty good job. I'm surprised the acne community is receiving this much attention on an emotional level. I'm happy because people usually look at acne as not being a struggle and they down others for having it. Assholes.
yeah she has tons of followers on Instagram and YouTube because she does great makeup tutorials. it's really helpful to see someone with acne do their makeup. She posted on Instagram that she was going to do a video like this so I had been looking foreward to it. I think the video does a great job at showing how hard it is to deal with acne. I love this girl I think she's stunning and strong. I would never be able to do what she does
That was such an emotional video! I find famous youtubers especially are coming out more and showing their emotions towards acne and how it effected them. I think its great to get more support towards the community. 'Zoella' is a really big youtuber and she made a video talking about her struggles with acne and anxiety, pretty inspiring to see the discussion of support starting (:
This youtuber was in the news recently...she certainly caught people's attention. I'm a bit perplexed though by the increasing popularity of acne coverage videos...it's almost becoming a trend.
Not saying it's positive or negative, it's just a bit strange to me. Almost a way to gain more attention, comments, and followers. Not to diminish the fact that these girls (and a few guys) are putting themselves out there and that what they are doing is an empowering thing...I just couldn't help but notice all the other acne coverage-related videos that popped up on the side as I clicked on this video. I noticed that in other users' videos, some actually exaggerate their acne to presumably make the makeover seem more dramatic. Like this user's video (he/she says in the comments that the acne in the video is artificial)
. Idk, something about it seems strange to me, as happy as I am that people like mypaleskin are getting attention for the right reasons.
I do like this girl's video,though...it brings a lot of awareness to people who are clueless about skin issues & online bullying. But it goes to show that clever editing & emotional appeals can make this one video stand out from the thousands of other videos that deal with acne.
