Today I tried out Slim Fruits for the first time (no, I'm not endorsing them yet...still undecided!), and the main ingredient is dietary fiber. This reminded me of some interesting articles I read about fiber's connection to hormonal balance. People have been asking me for healthy ways of reducing estrogens and/or androgens, and I think the fiber- hormones connection is important, especially if you are against drugs & even supplements.
I might post an update on slim fruits in a few weeks if I continue to take them. I bought them from a pharmacy, and the ingredients seem to be more or less ok. For me it seemed like an easy way to get more fiber in my diet. I also eat tortilla wraps from time to time that are fortified with extra fiber.
Check out some interesting articles here, and remember to SLOWLY add fiber into your diet. Don't go overboard and don't expect results overnight. This is a lifestyle change, not a magic remedy.

I also wanted to mention that during my last ovarian scan, the doctors confirmed that the cysts on my ovaries have reduced greatly. One doctor even thinks that my PCOS is gone. I don't think PCOS can ever disappear, but its symptoms can go into remission. I see this as proof of my consistent lifestyle & dietary changes, and the results were small & gradual but definite. You don't need pills to regulate your hormones, you just need a lot of patience, research, and the right tools to understand how your body works.
This post has helped me so much! I am 21 years old and just figuring out on my own that I have pcos.. I have not seen a gyno to confirm because I am in college and barely have the money to put gas in my car let alone visit a doctor (although I plan on doing so soon!). However I am almost 100% sure I have it because of the stubborn acne, the infertility, the shedding of hair, the lack of sex drive, and some other symptoms. My biggest issues were the acne and the hair loss. I've never been on birth control so I don't know what it's like to get off BC and end up with ridiculously terrible hormonal acne.. my acne was probably worse when I was 13-19 then it is now -oh, how thankful I am for that- but the hair loss was a frightening reality. Once I realized what the real problem was I was researching day and night on how to cure this thing... obviously there is no "cure" but like you've said there is way to get rid of some the symptoms. Its been about a year since I've discovered I have pcos and within this past year I've tried everything but what I noticed helped the most over everything (vitamins + supplements, exercise, etc.) is changing my diet. Obviously vits+supps, exercise, sun exposure, low-stress lifestyle in conjunction with a healthy diet help to fight this thing the best way possible but diet was the best tool in my arsenal. The problem for me (as a college student) is continuing to follow that diet I'm going to purchase some/most of the things on your grocery list and I am definitely going to try some of the supplements you mentioned! you have given me serious hope that one day I can also get rid of these awful symptoms
