Hi there, been on holiday the last week so haven't been updating. Mouth breakout went down by second day on holiday so day 14, has been good since. Today is day... 23 of month 11 I believe.

Month 12 starts on Wednesday which will be my last month on Dianette before my switch over back to Yasmin.

Day 4 of month 11. Skin is fine. One drying up pimple next to lip. 2 horrible red bums on jawline that just won't go down though, but they're not active pimples? So strange.

Bought Cetaphil gentle wash, may try this morning. Imagine if after all this time I just had sensitive skin!

Hi - haven't posted in a while so thought I would give you a quick update. This last month has been the worst month for my daughter in ages - continual spots :( which is really annoying. Not sure if it is the warmer weather making her skin more oily or the stress of her GCSEs (which have finished now thank god). I think things will get worse when she goes on to the new pill she has been prescribed - not sure whether to go back to the doctor and ask for antibiotics. How do you feel about changing to Yasmin?

Ah bless her! I will say, my terrible turn of skin was on the morning of my first year university exams last year! I always thought it was coincidental, but the stress may have thrown my hormones out of whack? Who knows!

I hope her skin doesn't effect her GCSEs- this will seem a million years ago when she's older! :) good luck to her.

Usually i see my skin be much better in the summer- during my week in italy my skin looked quite nice! The sun dried up anything that was there and nothing really formed while I was there, so maybe the stress for her!

I've booked an appointment for with the nurse on Friday to sort out the pill situation- i'm not sure how i feel about it. Its annoying to have to think about it all over again., but i'm hoping and preying Yasmin goes back to how it was at the start. If not, i'm straight off to the dermatologist to get Roaccutane. A friend at work who i personally think has rather nice skin maybe a few pimples here and there has just started a low dose and is increasing it as she goes along. She said she just got fed up of having constantly average skin with a few spots and is seeing great results!

Day 15 of month 11. Skin is still very clear..... gone completely through my break out period with VERY clear skin. Like... Surprisingly clear. Wow.

All I have changed is instead of Clinique anti-blemish 3 step solutions I've been using only Cetaphil. Ever since my acne breakouts started, I have been using harsh acne clearing skincare products and quite frankly spending a lot of money on these!!! Now i've switched to 7.99 Cetaphil and my skin seems pretty much flawless bar the scars? Could I have all along caused my own acne with these harsh products? Hm....

Also- picked up Yasmin from the doctors. Due to start next week as not having a break this month. The nurse was debating between Yasmin and another pill starting with a G, could anyone think what this one may be? A contraceptive pill beginning with a "G" thats good for skin???? If so please comment ! :)

Gianvi maybe? I've heard some good things about it, but I don't personally know anyone who's tried it.

Day 4 of month 1 of Yasmin.

I wish I had better news to report, but my skin is getting worse day by day. Its SO bad today, like pretty much getting to the state it was before I was on Dianette. Within the space of 4 days my skin has gone absolutely crazy and resorted back to how it was before.

So... Monday i'm off to the doctors to change pill. Yasmin just doesn't seem to work for me. My doctor recommended one that began with a 'G' so i think i'll try that. Gianvi was suggested by the lovely lady above, so may well have been that one!

I think want to go back to my dermatologist privately. She was great and ensured that should i go back again after Dianette she would give me a low dose of Roaccutane. I think this is what i need to get my skin sorted once and for all! I'm so so over these 6 month cures, then its back again. I want it done with !

So bizarre to me that my skin was near enough perfect last week, and now its literally awful. So sore. But.. Must stay positive! And get it sorted :)

Hi yes, have been back to my GP yesterday. Will update below !!!

Day 7? Of month 1 on Yasmin.

So .... after the shocking skin turnaround about 3 days into my pill, my skin has drastically calmed. I am currently left with a few scars, and a few jawline pimples which are reasonably small. After visiting the doctor he was ensured that Yasmin was the next best, however gave me Gedaral should I want to change.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of Gederal for skin?

Regardless, due to it slightly calming now i'm hoping it was just the shock of changing pills. However, i have a private dermatologist appointment on the 28th of this month, so should I need it I will go and request roaccutane in a low dose. Hopefully I won't and my skin will continue to re-clear like it has been. But who really knows!

Current regime-

Cetaphil gentle wash, zineryt lotion (from doctors, got this again when skin started breaking out), Cetaphil moisturising lotion

I'm really pleased for you :) Hopefully the breakout was just a blip. I will let you know how we get on when my daughter changes pills. Are you using the Cetaphil gentle wash high tolerance? I heard some good things about Cetaphil so think we will invest in some. So would you say that at the moment now that the breakout has cleared your skin is as calm as it was on Dianette?

Yeah hopefully! Right now my skin is as good if not better than stages of Dianette. However, we shall see how it goes!

Yeah Cetaphil is lovely, the gentle wash yeah thats the one :) really good! Non irritating, feels really nice and soft!

Will reply to you and do my general post in one! :) Was just coming on here to update.

So... booked a private dermatologist appointment the time when i first changed and my skin went awful. As my skin had been great the past few weeks, i rang the derm so many times to try cancel but never any answer. Anyway... today is the appointment day and also yesterday was a day my skin decided to have a little episode and break out a bit. Not as bad as last time but... not great and definitely something I'm conscious of / a blip in the progress.. So i've decided to still go along to my appointment tonight. I really don't want great skin for a few weeks then break out over and over again. Want to see what she can offer me to sort this once and for all ! :)
