Hi! First time posting. My derm gave me an RX for spironolactone for 50mg a day and after doing heavy research I have yet to find a lot about taking it as an athlete..I am 26 years old and extremely active-running, swimming, biking, do races, work out hard, etc.

Is this going to make me want to pass out when I work out?! Think just starting with 25mg would be a better idea?! Would 25 even be effective?!

This is my only hope as nothing else has worked. But exercise is my savior and I cannot give up my running and being active. Please help!

i think you will be fine i have no issues and i go for 45 mile bike rides as well as i run and walk all the time. at first i did get a little light headed when i first stood up but its a lot better now. the biggest thing is just making sure you keep hydrated at all times. 50mg isnt that much so i wouldnt even worry about it i take 100mg a day.

I am extremely active and it has not affected my endurance.

However the change in hormones can trigger weight gain. For me I will gain weight on it if I take it too late in the day. If I take my first pill at breakfast and second at lunch then I don't gain.
