Hey guys,
I was on Cerazette (progesterone only mini pill) for about a year. It was incredible- made me lose weight (not that I'm heavy but it was a bonus!), stabilised moods, gave me energy, boosted libido - genuinely, was great to be on.
BUT, it gave me cystic acne so horrible I considered Roaccutane and met with two dermatologists to discuss it.
Only about a month ago did I realise that the pill itself was what gave me acne so painful and horrible, I'd never had perfect skin but the pill was just another level.
So what I'm asking is: is there another mini pill to take that would give me all of the benefits that Cerazette did, without the acne?
Or is it the estrogen in the combined pill that controls hormonal acne?
Thanks so much!
I started cerazette a month ago after years on the combined pill. It really is great except I started coming out with cysts on my chin, almost a new one everyday. 5 days ago i made my own toothpaste - essentially fluoride/SLS free and no new spots for about 3/4 days. I really do think that excess sebum (due to the drop in oestrogen when coming off the combined pill) reacts with fluoride to cause cystic lumps.
Google "fluoroderma cystic"
