Has Anyone Tried Topical Spironolactone?

I have been clear on Spironolactone for almost 2 years now, but I recently started breaking out a little after having my Mirena (hormonal IUD) inserted. I don't want to up my dosage of Spiro so I asked my dermatologist if we can apply it topically because I've read some studies on that being successful, and she agreed to call it into a compounding pharmacy to have it compounded into a solution I can apply topically.

Has anyone tried this? Any success?

I've been interested in trying this, but haven't got to it so far. Let us know how it goes! The only thing I've heard is that many men use it topically to prevent hair loss and apparently the odour isn't very pleasant.

Not to burst your bubble, but I wouldn't be too hopeful staying clear on the Mirena. I chose the hormone free copper IUD for that reason.
